🏒❄️ ICE IS COMING!

Ice preparations have officially started on Action Arena at Red Baron Arena & Expo! But getting a sheet of ice ready for the season is a little more involved than simply turning on the freezer. 👀

Here’s a look at what goes into transforming the arena floor into a regulation ice surface: https://youtu.be/_dnyZmYWvt4

❄️ 1. Cool the floor
The concrete floor is cooled to prepare the surface for ice-making.

🧱 2. Install the boards & glass
The dasher boards and protective glass are assembled around the rink, creating the boundaries of the playing surface.

💧 3. Build the ice — layer by layer
Thin layers of water are carefully sprayed onto the chilled floor. Layer after layer freezes until the ice reaches the proper thickness.

🎨 4. Add the markings & logos
Once the ice base is ready, rink lines, circles, logos, and other markings are painted or installed as inlays between layers of ice.

💦 5. Finish the surface
Additional layers of water are added to protect the markings and create the smooth, durable skating surface players need.

🏒 6. Get ready for hockey!
After plenty of freezing, resurfacing, and fine-tuning, Action Arena is ready for another season on the ice!

The transformation has started here at the Red Baron❗
