So what's changing? We're elevating. We want to take what you already love and bring it to the next level. From booked out weddings to birthdays and baby showers we want to be the first place you consider, no matter the season! Hosting a community event? We can help. A last-minute elopement? We can do that too.

No matter your needs, we want you to feel like you're a part of the family AND something greater, because you are!

👋 Homeless to Home here! Please bear with us as leadership shifts and we work out the next steps. While we as a rescue are already busy, please have patience while we work out communications for all Woods related inquiries.

We do want to add some extra clarity, if you have already booked an event with us, you are welcome to have your event at the day & time you booked! We are NOT canceling your event unless you choose to.

We are thankful for each and every one of you who have booked an event or are considering booking!

Our raccoons are working hard behind the scenes to make sure your future events and inquiries are getting the attention you expect! *Bear with us, the raccoons are smart, but we have to teach them a few things 🦝

A last note from Kimberly, Operations Coordinator:

After careful consideration and soul searching, I have made the difficult decision to step down from my role as Operations Coordinator for The Woods Park & Pavilion, effective immediately.

I will no longer be the primary contact for The Woods, including rentals, tours, vendor inquiries, event questions, payments, or general correspondence.

Until Homeless to Home determines the next steps for managing The Woods, all future communication should be directed to:

The current phone number for The Woods, (740) 396-8228, will no longer be in service.

Any currently scheduled tours will need to be canceled and rescheduled directly with Homeless to Home. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes, especially for anyone who already had time set aside.

For those who currently have rentals on the books, I will be reaching out individually with information about who to contact moving forward and how to handle any remaining rental payments or questions.

With this transition, the Paws & Pumpkins Festival [the 2nd] is also canceled. I will be reaching out individually to those who have already signed up to participate in any part of the event, including vendors, sponsors, volunteers, food trucks, and anyone else involved.

The website will also be going through major changes again during this transition, so please bear with everyone as things are updated.

Thank you to every renter, vendor, food truck, volunteer, sponsor, photographer, small business, and community member I have had the chance to work with during my time with The Woods. I have genuinely appreciated the relationships built, the events planned, and the support shown for both The Woods and Homeless to Home.

PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING THE CANCELED EVENT ON SUNDAY, MAY 10, 2026

We want to address the confusion surrounding the Mother’s Day Brunch pop-up restaurant event that was scheduled for Sunday, May 10 at The Woods Park & Pavilion.

On Tuesday, May 5, we were informed by the event host, Sai Less Eats, that the event had been canceled. We were also told that all ticket holders would be contacted and refunded directly by the host. Unfortunately, it has since become clear that this did not happen.

Throughout Sunday, we received numerous phone calls and had multiple individuals physically arrive at the venue expecting the event to still be taking place. We sincerely apologize to everyone affected by this situation.

At this time, we have officially reported the incident to Eventbrite and are cooperating fully with their investigation. Based on the information we have uncovered, we have reason to believe this may have been part of a scam involving ticket sales through Eventbrite.

We have also permanently banned this individual from any future rentals at our venue.

We also want to clarify the nature of our involvement. The Woods Park & Pavilion had a signed rental contract with the host of this event. That contract explicitly states that The Woods Park & Pavilion and Homeless to Home Animal Rescue were not sponsors, supporters, organizers, partners, or otherwise affiliated with the event itself. All responsibility for marketing, ticket sales, communication with attendees, refunds, food service, and event operations belonged solely to the host.

Per the signed agreement, The Woods was only providing the physical rental space and venue address for the event. The owner of Sai Less Eats signed and agreed to these terms and is therefore solely responsible and liable for this unfortunate situation.

If you purchased tickets to this event, we strongly encourage you to contact Eventbrite directly and request a refund. Please let them know:

• The venue itself reported the event
• The host canceled the event on May 5
• Ticket holders were not properly informed
• Attendees arrived believing the event was still happening

While we were not involved in the operation or management of the event itself, we are doing everything we can to help affected attendees and assist with the investigation.

We understand how frustrating and disappointing this has been, especially on a holiday meant to celebrate mothers and families. Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and kindness as we work through this unfortunate situation.
