Teacher Appreciation Week is always one of our busiest (and most favorite) weeks of the year.

Getting to show up for the teachers and staff at Pleasant Gardens Elementary School, the same place my babies walk into every morning, and the same school I have such wonderful memories from, just hits a little different. These teachers pour so much into our kids, and it’s an honor to pour a little something back into them. ✏️🍎

“Don’t waste your time”

Words written by my grandmother in an old cookbook. Apparently, Billy Goat cookies were gross. I found this page in her cookbook years after she died, and snapped a picture of it. My Mamaw loved to cook. She really is the one who instilled the love of food and entertaining in me. She taught me that people eat with their eyes first. That pretty food tastes better. So it felt fitting to hang her handwriting on the walls of Golden Hour.

I walk past this photo every day as I walk out the door. And I hear her voice say those words. “Don’t waste your time.”

And lately, those words have been louder.

I want to be a wife. I want to be a mom. And my babies aren’t babies anymore… they have their own little lives, their own friends, their own worlds, and I don’t want to miss it. Not a second of it.

I’ve poured so much of myself into this space. Every detail, every event, every late night, every idea. It’s all been a piece of me. And walking away from that isn’t easy. But I truly believe it’s her words… her voice… that have given me the courage to do it.

Golden Hour, the venue, has been so special. But it’s time.

The good news is… this space isn’t losing its magic. I’ve found the perfect people to carry it on, and they are truly incredible. I couldn’t feel better about who’s stepping into it.

And to be very clear, this does NOT affect any events currently booked with Golden Hour. Every single one will be honored, in this space, just as promised.

I’m not going anywhere.

I’m still catering. I’m still creating. I’m still doing what I love most. Feeding people, bringing them together, and making things feel special. That’s always been the heart of this anyway.

So yes… I’m sad.

But I’m not.

Because I know I’m not wasting my time. 🤍

I *think* I have sent out all invoices. These should have came through via text message or email. If you haven't received an invoice, or are planning to pay at pickup, just send us a message. There are A LOT of these things, and we want to make sure pickup is as smooth as possible. 💛

(We know that lots of larger deliveries plan to pay at time of delivery. This one's not for you. 😘)

I had the BEST time yesterday doing a private charcuterie workshop with Dr. Deborah G. Anders - Adult and Family Dentistry. 10/10 would recommend! They laughed. They created. They bonded. They learnd all the weird ways you can cut a kiwi.

We bring everything. The ingredients, the boards, the setup, the vibes. You just provide the people.

If your office needs a morale boost that doesn’t involve another catered sandwich tray (we do those too if thats your vibe)… call your girl.
