It's time for Cicada Mania!! This spring cicadas should be seen and heard in the North Georgia mountains. Likely counties are Rabun, Dade, Habersham, Paulding, and White. UGA Department of Entomology needs our help. If you see or hear one call 706-542-9033 or email [email protected]. The next time we will see them will be 2034, another 17 years!!

Be careful this spring with your sprays. There are so many natural alternatives. Pesticides are broad and indiscriminate. Everything is connected and there is a ripple effect across populations.

The garden is coming in quick at Reconnecting Our Roots Community Garden. Okra, eggplant, basil, tomatoes, peppers, squash!! If you need a small garden it is not too late. There are plots available and I can help you plant. We have lots of sunshine and water.

This is trillium. I love finding this in its natural habitat which happens to be my backyard! I have hundreds. The sweet flower has three petals and three leaves and is sometimes called the trinity flower.
Don't pick it! It wilts quickly and is endangered.
Plan a woodland native garden around these little jewels.
