All the s**t I PUT MYSELF through.
Here I am still standing.
Addiction is ugly, it will rip out your soul and the soul of the family and friends who love you the most.
Today I am grateful to be a recovering addict.
I am thankful that because of recovery I have gained a new life and regained my family and those closest to me.
I have given away EVERYTHING. I EARNED all of it back.
I worked my ass off and fought for my seat in recovery evey damn day.
The life I lived and the things I have done are all in the past.
Today the woman, mom, and friend I have become is what matters the most.
I have lived on the dark side and in the dark side. Life was a game of who was the better survivor.
Only by the grace of GOD, his grace saved me. His grace allowed me to live a new way of life. Gods grace gave me back my family. Gods grace keeps me clean. Gods grace has given me a life that I NEVER would have thought possible.
The next time you see an addict who is suffering, remember, that addict could be your mother, father, brother, sister or child. That addict means something to somebody.
Today I am free from my addiction!!Today even when I feel weak I know I am strong, I know God has a plan and a purpose for my expierence.
I accept responsibility for all of my actions, I also accept responsibility to be a light for others who suffer the same way I did.
