Only those who are close to me and have known me for a long time know about my secret competitive side. I indulge this alter ego once a year in a healthy way, at the county fair. There was some solid competition this year, but we walked away with a few ribbons. This year my daughters got involved and entered some things for themselves as well. This weekend I had the joy of providing flowers for my church’s biannual regional (stake) conference. Sometimes extra large arrangements like these prove challenging, and sometimes they just flow into the vases and don’t require a lot of manipulation or editing. This job was the latter. I wanted these flowers to be colorful and joyful, and I was so pleased with how they turned out. I think my Heavenly Father is pleased with them too, He provided all the materials. I’m super grateful to my local leaders for asking me to do it.
