Here’s what you’re getting:

I’ve been sitting on an idea. And today I finally decided I’m doing it.

Tomorrow, I’m opening something I haven’t offered in a LONG time, and I’m only opening it for THREE weddings.

Not three per month. Not three for 2026 and three for 2027. Three. Total.

pparently it’s been approximately 47 years since I posted a session peek, so HELLO. I’M STILL HERE. 😂
Back to school season rolled directly into the beginning of busy season and somewhere between school schedules, sessions, weddings, editing, emails, and approximately 736 other things, social media got tossed into the abyss.
But I have SO. MANY. beautiful sessions sitting on my computer that deserve to see the light of day, starting with this sweet crew and one of my forever favorite places to photograph!!
So consider this my official attempt at crawling out from underneath my editing pile and actually sharing some of what I’ve been working on.
In the meantime, I am now accepting donations of iced coffee, snacks, and emotional support through my office window. Please knock gently. This photographer is fragile. 😂☕️

Apparently it’s been approximately 47 years since I posted a session peek, so HELLO. I’M STILL HERE. 😂

Back to school season rolled directly into the beginning of busy season and somewhere between school schedules, sessions, weddings, editing, emails, and approximately 736 other things, social media got tossed into the abyss.

FALL AVAILABILITY UPDATE!

If fall photos are on your to-do list, now is definitely the time to get them booked!

My outdoor calendar for the next few months is filling up FAST, especially weekends:
🌻 LATE AUGUST: 2 openings remaining
🍁 SEPTEMBER: 6 openings remaining
🎃 OCTOBER: Limited weekday availability + only a few Sunday openings for Deluxe sessions
🍂 NOVEMBER: Weekday availability remains

🚨 WEEKEND CLIENTS: Between weddings, minis, and already booked sessions, I currently have just ONE completely open Saturday or Sunday between now and the end of November: Saturday, November 28!

If you already have a fall weekend session booked, PLEASE keep this in mind before giving up your date. Rescheduling may mean moving to a weekday because I simply may not have another weekend available.

Fall is always my busiest season, and once these remaining openings are claimed, that’s it!

I fear I will never emotionally recover from this session. Because EXCUSE ME?! The outfits. The smiles. The way these kiddos absolutely lit up the entire field. The snuggles. The sibling chaos. The sweetest dad + daughter moment. ALL OF IT.

There are sessions I love, and then there are sessions where I get home, start going through the photos, and immediately decide I need approximately 47 of them framed in my own house…despite these not being my children hahaha. 😂

This was one of those. I am completely, ridiculously, head over heels obsessed with this entire gallery. Sunflower minis, you have my whole heart this year. 🌻

Every year people ask how I know exactly when to schedule sunflower minis.

Honestly…sometimes I have no idea. 😂

I watch the weather. I talk to the farmer. I stalk the forecast. I cross my fingers. I stress. A lot.

This year we had heat advisories, storms, air quality warnings, one glorious week of perfect weather…and now we’re right back into storms while the flowers begin to fade.

Somehow, we threaded the needle and photographed these sessions during the only stretch of comfortable, beautiful weather we had.

I’ll happily take that win. 🌻💛

“We’re about to eat lunch with your wife.”

That is a REAL text message Eric’s dad sent him…before he had ever even met Kaitlin. 😂 Eric replied, “Who’s my wife? Did you mean to send this to Jon?” His dad’s response? “Don’t worry about it sweetheart.” Fast forward a little while… His dad was right. ❤️ And yes…I made Eric pull out his phone so I could photograph the actual conversation because I refuse to let a love story that good disappear into the depths of an iPhone. 😂

This wedding meant so much to me for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with photography. I met Kaitlin’s older sister because she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed years ago. Then I photographed her wedding. Now here we are photographing Kaitlin’s. Somewhere along the way, this family stopped feeling like clients and started feeling like people I genuinely look forward to seeing. I’ve watched the younger siblings grow up, photographed so many milestones, and every wedding somehow feels like another family reunion. That is one of the greatest gifts this career has given me.

And can we PLEASE talk about Tayvin Gardens?! I don’t know who designed this venue, but they deserve a standing ovation because it literally feels like stepping into a storybook. The gardens. The staircases. The ceremony space. The reception hall. Every single corner was absolutely magical.

It sprinkled throughout the day, but honestly? The soft overcast skies made everything feel even dreamier. And then, just when we thought the weather had shown us everything…The sky exploded into the most unbelievable sunset. Worth every single raindrop!!

Also…The guys were getting full-on fresh haircuts while getting ready. In all my years photographing weddings, that was a first. 😂 And I was HERE. FOR. IT.

I don’t know if there’s a stronger word than love…because whatever Kaitlin and Eric have deserves its own category. Watching the way they looked at each other all day honestly moved me. Nothing felt forced. Nothing felt posed. They were just completely, undeniably crazy about each other. And don’t even get me started on that dip kiss. Literal professionals.

Then there was the wedding party. The absolute BEST. Fun. Helpful. Kind. Always where they needed to be. Completely unhinged in the best possible way once the music started. I’ve never seen a dance floor fill up so fast in my entire career. 😂 The DJ barely got the words out before people were RUNNING out there. My feet hurt just watching them. The former dancer in me was absolutely living for the choreographed entrances and dances. The lifts. The spins. The confidence. Everyone in that room was completely locked in.

And Kaitlin surprising her new father-in-law with a dance? I don’t think I stopped smiling for the rest of the night. You could just see how much he loves her.

One of my favorite little moments happened completely unexpectedly. One of the bridesmaids has a one-year-old daughter who apparently wants absolutely nothing to do with anyone besides Mom and Dad. Well…she decided I was her new bff. 😂 She wanted me to hold her ALL. NIGHT. Every time I tried to hand her back she’d cry until I picked her up again. If you’ve ever worked with me, you already know babies are my weakness…but earning the trust of a little one like that? That’s something I’ll never forget.

And because apparently this day hadn’t already maxed out the “meant to be” meter…
These two found not one…but TWO four-leaf clovers. ☘️☘️

Some weddings stay on your hard drive. Some weddings stay in your heart. Kaitlin & Eric’s will absolutely be one I’ll carry with me forever. ❤️

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Diggs!! Here’s to a lifetime of sunsets, dance floors, four-leaf clovers…and dads who somehow know the future. 🥹

Fresh 48 sessions have a way of preserving the moments that disappear the fastest. Tiny fingers wrapped around a big sister’s hand. Big brother proudly carrying flowers into the room. Parents soaking in the reality that their hearts somehow just grew again.
