Over the years there has been only one act at Metro Jam that comes close to our Friday evening closer. You would have to go back to the year 2002 when Slam I Am ripped up the MetroStage at Washington Park. Get ready for some “high energy” music from the evening’s closer...Psycho Logic!

Psycho Logic is a nu-metal cover band featuring 2000’s rock from groups such as System of A Down, Chevelle and The Perfect Circle. Band members include Lex Phinney on lead vocals, Ethan Frounfelker on drums and back-up vocals, Manitowoc’s own Troy Adams on guitar and Craig DeRuyter on bass guitar, keyboards and back-up vocals.

A Metro Jam tradition has been to bring “up north” some of the best of the Milwaukee music scene! This year is no different with the appearances of Elephonic and Juneautown. Let us introduce you to…Elephonic!

Elephonic is a group of veteran Milwaukee musicians including Mike Jarvis lead vocals and guitar, Jason Klagstad on guitar, Aaron Heffernan on keyboards and vocals, Brian Wooldridge on bass and vocals and Don Kurth on drums. Mike Jarvis was the lead singer and songwriter of two of Milwaukee’s highly acclaimed and much beloved bands: The Blow Pops and The Lackloves. I

n 2023, Elephonic released their debut album, a worldwide and critically acclaimed sonic vision of sprawling chamber folk-pop. Elephonic is simultaneously familiar sounding yet wholly original and new. Exuberant and undeniably melodic, their joyous songs will be stuck in your cranium ad infinitum. BLUES LOVERS ALERT!!

Calling all lovers of the blues! This year’s Metro Jam will feature some of the hottest blues influenced acts of the summer.

Headlining on Saturday evening will be the legendary Grammy award winning, slide guitarist Sonny Landreth. His expressive, ethereal guitar work can be heard on hundreds of recordings from artists including John Mayall, Mark Knopfler, Gov’t Mule, Shemekia Copeland and John Hiatt, who Landreth tours with as a regular member of his band.

Opening for Sonny is the Southern Blues Rockers, Parker Barrow. The band have hit the road touring across the US in anticipation of their upcoming release; Hold The Mash. This six piece outfit out of Nashville combines their own blend of the Stones, Skynyrd and the Black Crowes with the powerful lead vocals of Megan Kane to create a sound that will cure what ails you!

Biff Hansen and The Works
Metro Jam Saturday June 20th

While we have bands from across the country at this year’s festival, we also have a number of local legends and favs, including Biff Hanson and The Works!

Biff and the boys cover a wide variety of classic rock, country and contemporary music genres. The band features five seasoned veterans of the music business, including a thumpin’ rhythm section and dueling guitars, with all members providing top notch vocals. The Works include Good Luck Chuck Klessig laying down the bottom on bass, versatile guitar man Keith VanDen Huevel and Matt “Binzer” Bayens hitting the tubs! Biff Hansen and The Works don’t just play cool tunes (which they do), but they really entertain as well, bringing energy, excitement and crowd participation to each performance…along with some occasional shenanigans. They refer to their show as “Hard Roll” (not hard rock) music. This crowd pleasing rock ‘n’ roll act definitely serves up The Works, “a little bit of everything” to rock you party!

The Handcuffs
Metro Jam, Saturday June 19th, 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Led by drummer Brad Elvis (Screams, The Elvis Brothers, Big Hello, The Romantics) and vocalist/guitarist/saxophonist Chloe F. Orwell (Big Hello), Chicago’s The Handcuffs released their fourth studio album “Burn The Rails” (Pravda Records) in summer 2024.

For the new album, The Handcuffs found inspiration from the heady, analog days of early 1970s rock & roll, weaving together elements of glam, indie, garage, art and blues rock. Inhabiting some of the same musical turf as T-Rex, Mott The Hoople, Roxy Music, The Raconteurs, P.J. Harvey, Led Zeppelin, and Patti Smith – all filtered through a modern lens – they deliver bold, sexy songs with memorable melodies and unexpected twists.

Guest keyboardist Morgan Fisher (Mott The Hoople) demonstrates his synthesizer and piano prowess on a couple of tracks on the new LP. The relationship with Fisher, a musical hero of the band, began after singer Orwell’s rave review of Mott The Hoople’s 2018 reunion tour went viral on social media, attracting the attention of Fisher, who got in contact. From there a creative collaboration was sparked, in-spite of an ocean separating the now real-life friends.

Elvis and Orwell formed The Handcuffs from the ashes of Big Hello, their first band together, which released three indie label records and toured from coast to coast. Elvis’ career also includes a few major label go-arounds, arena tours, and a backstory that will be documented in a new autobiography in the near future. Completing the line-up are bassist Emily Togni, lead guitarist Charlie Short, and keyboardist Carolyn Engelmann, all of whom originate from different parts of the country, but have made Chicago their home.

The Nashville-based, southern-rockers, Park Borrow, will be making a Wisconsin tour stop! For the rest of you, catch them at Metro Jam at 7:00 on Saturday, June 20th. Friday night kicks off at 5:30pm with a special tribute to Manitowoc radio station WOMT as they celebrate their 100th Anniversary with an in-person edition of The Jim & Rick Show LIVE from Metro Jam. Immediately following this WOMT 100 tribute at 6:30pm will be the blues/rock of local favorites The Fordney Brothers Band. And topping off the evening at 8:30pm it is the nu-metal music of Manitowoc’s Psycho Logic.

Saturday the show gets started at Noon with a duo set from former Two River’s musician Dan Walker & Derek Pritzl. At 1:15pm it is Milwaukee original roots rockers Juneautown leading up to a 2:30pm high energy set from Manitowoc’s Biff Hansen & The Works. 4pm brings the unique folk/rock sounds of Elephonic featuring a who’s who of Milwaukee musicians followed by Chicago rockers The Handcuffs featuring Brad Elvis, drummer from The Romantics. Parker Barrow, Nashville blues-infused southern rockers will energize the crowd at 7pm leading up to our Saturday headliner 2026 Grammy winner, Sonny Landreth and his band.
