With this year coming to a close I wanted to talk about all of the little blessings I have seen in my life throughout the year. God is so good.
I moved to KC in January not knowing where my feet would end up. This sounds terrible, but starting first semester in Shawnee with my sister and brother-in-law was the last thing I wanted to do. It wasn’t living with them that I wasn’t looking forward to, it was having to start school in a new place, with no job, no friends, nothing. It was a hard adjustment for sure but I learned to love it. I understood that my circumstances were unchangeable and made the most of it. I now have some of the best and smartest group of engineering friends. And I have a stronger relationship and communication strategies with my oldest sister.
Pushing to the summer, I enjoyed many family weddings, wonderful needed time with one of my closest cousins and her sweet babe, and an enormous adjustment with my sister #2 moving 1,000+ miles away after her wedding in June. It is a huge blessing to gain another brother-in-law and to see our family grow, but sad she had to move so far away. We have made FaceTime calls work. Praying their next move is somewhere closer to home🤞🏼
In August, we got a new puppy and I started my first semester at Kansas State University. I have been blessed VERY big in the school department. The last two years I have bounced around from school to school, with the intention of studying engineering at KSU at some point. I am here now and absolutely love it. It is the biggest dream come true. I have made the greatest friends through my sorority, moved into my own apartment, enjoyed lots of football games (BIG 12 CHAMPS!!!!), studied MANY MANY hours, and am settling into a new church. I even scored an incredible internship in Utah over the summer. Another dream of mine come true. Finals are next week, and then I get a much needed break.
All of these blessings seem like a highlight reel sometimes, so we don’t always show the downs of every situation. My goal is to be able to share a bit of my life so people can relate and see that God has his hand in every situation. I am excited to see what 2023 will bring.
