Trunk or Treat is just a few weeks away. We are looking for residents, local businesses, and organizations to participate as the decorated trunks (or table) for handing out treats to the community at Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31. Trunks can set up between 4:30-5:30 pm and the event is 6:00-8:00 pm.

Hey, I’m the guy behind DJ Hstorm!

If we haven’t met yet, here are a few things you should know about me:

I’ve been DJing for over 10 years, and weddings have become one of my favorite parts of the job.

I originally came from the club/event side of DJing, but I found something really special in weddings , every couple, every crowd, and every night is completely different.

My music taste is all over the place. Pop, EDM, throwbacks, hip-hop, country, remixes, if it gets people moving, I’m into it.

I’m a big believer in preparation. I take notes, learn your vision, talk through the little details, and try to make the wedding feel like you, not a cookie-cutter reception.

Outside of DJing, I’m usually listening to music, working on mixes, hanging with family/friends, or finding some excuse to talk about DJ gear.

And probably the most important thing…

I genuinely care about the experience I give my couples. Your wedding isn’t just another Saturday on my calendar, it’s a day you’ve been looking forward to for a long time, and I want you to feel that from the first conversation to the last song.

This wedding season has taught me a lot about resilience.

I usually keep my personal life pretty private. Most people probably had no idea what I was going through behind the scenes.

In the midst of what has been my busiest wedding season to date, I lost my father to cancer.

During the week, I was a full-time caregiver. I took a leave of absence from my full-time job so I could be there for him, and on the weekends, my mom would take over so I could go out and do what I love, DJ weddings.

I’m not sharing this because I need sympathy. I’m sharing it because I want the people who follow my journey to know what was happening behind the scenes.

Even during some of the hardest days of my life, I still showed up.

I still packed the gear.
I still walked into venues with a smile.
I still grabbed the microphone.
I still read the room.
I still kept the dance floor moving.
And I still gave every couple 100%.

My clients deserved the same energy, preparation, and care that I’ve always promised them, and I was determined to deliver that, even when things were incredibly difficult personally.

There were moments when I absolutely did not feel like I had 100% to give. But somehow, I found it.

I’m proud of myself for continuing to show up, not just as a DJ, but as a son, a caregiver, a team player, and a person trying to navigate something I never wanted to experience.

This season has reminded me that sometimes resilience doesn’t look like having everything together.

Sometimes it just looks like showing up and giving your best with whatever you have left.

And to every couple who trusted me with their wedding this season, thank you. You probably didn’t know what was happening behind the scenes, but your celebrations gave me something to look forward to during a really difficult chapter of my life.

I’m incredibly grateful I got to be there. 💙

🎤 Why does stage presence matter to me as a wedding DJ?

Because I’m not just there to press play.

When I’m behind the booth, I want couples and their guests to feel confident that the person running the room has everything under control. Whether I’m making an announcement, introducing the couple, hyping up the dance floor, or simply reading the room, my presence sets the tone.

It’s my responsibility to help guide the entire experience🤙🏻
