Congratulations to our dear friend Battalion Chief Billy Moreland on his retirement! He has served the community via Fairfax County Fire & Rescue for many years & we are grateful for the positive impacts that he contributed. It was a joy to be able to feed this amazing group of Fire & Rescue professionals as well as the Moreland family & their loved ones.
Thank you to Katie & her team The Winery at La Grange for doing what they do & being an amazing venue to cater an event at.

As some of you may know, DE is owned & operated by a Fire & Rescue Professional, so being able to serve this group was an extra special honor for our team.

One of the upcoming ways is you can do so is by purchasing tickets to the Fauquier Education Farm’s Feast from the Field! This annual fundraising event helps support an organization whose dual missions are near & dear to our hearts:
Providing neighbors in need with fresh, nutritious food (what they grow gets donated to FISH & Commmuity Food Bank for distribution to families)

Growing new farmers so that our community at large continues to have access to healthy, delicious produce.

PSA : A Note on Food Safety
We’ve had so many questions over the last week that we thought it best to write a little public service announcement to address it.

Our produce is free from cyclosporiasis, and we have no fear of contamination. Why can we say that so confidently? Well, for one, we take our food safety protocols seriously. We regularly sanitize our tools, service our equipment, and test our water. We are independently verified by food safety inspectors.

Furthermore, nothing is outsourced. We water from our wells and retaining ponds, we fertilize with compost created and monitored on site, and we harvest/wash/pack everything straight from the fields to our coolers to you.

Finally, the farm crew is the first consumers of all the food we grow. If anything was amiss, we’d be the first to know.

Mass food distribution is a miracle of the modern age, but this abundance comes at the cost of resiliency. Supporting local farmers matters now more than ever. Buying local not only ensures you receive the freshest produce, but purchasing from businesses with short supply chains also dramatically reduces your risk of illness.

We are experiencing a surge in orders, and we will do our best to serve everyone. We may not have any large-scale grocers in the county, but we have something far better—a network of dedicated farmers and country stores.

Locally made in Warrenton, Virginia by family owned & operated Abundant Acres Farm LLC, this line of sauces is full of flavor, just the right amount of heat, & a whole lotta love!

Fun fact: Abundant Acres Farm got their start at the Fauquier Education Farm where Farmer Dustin now serves on the Board of Directors. The Ed Farm has a dual mission of growing fresh produce for our neighbors who need nutrition support & also growing new farmers so that our community continues to have access to fresh, local food.

Special thanks to PATH Foundation for supporting the Ed Farm & many other local non-profits with missions focused on increasing health for all in our community. Easily accessible, locally grown fresh produce plays a big role in a healthy lifestyle & we are so grateful that the PATH Foundation recognizes this🙏
