It sure has been feeling like summer, so it seems natural that the Pavilion summer concert series is kicking off tomorrow, May 6 at 7 p.m. with Acoustic Tuesday. Shane Gamble will return with his mix of country, rock, pop, and Americana. There will be plenty of room to spread out, so bring your chair and bring on summer! The Farmer’s Market opened for the season today. Could fresh peaches and sun-kissed tomatoes be far behind? The Thursday Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Harris Pavilion, and the Saturday Market is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Prince William Street commuter lot across from Baldwin School. Follow Historic Manassas Farmers Market for a schedule of vendors, events, and Saturday musical performers.

Renovation of the Harris Pavilion ice rink piping, which had been scheduled for this summer, has been delayed until 2026 due to supply chain issues. That means Thursday Farmer’s Markets, concerts, and events will take place at the Pavilion this year as usual. The ice skating season will run from November 2025 through January 4, 2026. It is also the National Day of Service, established to encourage all Americans to volunteer and improve their communities while honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King. Any day would be a good day to volunteer and help your community, and a good place to start is Volunteer Prince William.

• The Manassas City Council meeting and swearing in ceremony scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. The swearing in will be postponed until the January 13 meeting.
