It takes concentration and endurance to climb sides of massive rocks. Stephen Kent is a part of a vibrant rock climbing community in Manassas, Virginia who learn and socialize at Vertical Rock, Manassas, Va, a local indoor climbing business.

It’s looks like a lot of fun and takes skill. Expert climbers like Stephen and his family Mel and Sylvie climb together. Great exercise too.

We love to learn about their travel and adventures to climb in Virginia.

Local resident Lynn Forkell Greene’s dad was a police officer and today she is a volunteer leader in her City of Manassas, Virginia continuing to share up-to-date info about public safety to the commmunity.

This tool from the Manassas City Police Department is a very valuable application and is provided to enable citizens to easily report non-emergency incidents.

“This method should not be used if anyone was injured as a result of the incident, or if an officer should be dispatched to the crime location. At this time, online reporting is only offered in English. If you wish to report an incident to police in a language other than English, please contact our non-emergency number at 703-257-8000 or for an emergency dial 911 § 18.2-461. Falsely summoning or giving false reports to law-enforcement officials is a criminal offense and punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor. Below is the link to the incident report.”

My friend and fellow George Mason University alum Michael Vanzetta visited the Fall Jubilee Historic Manassas, Inc. last Saturday and asked me about the positive impact of beekeeping on mental health.

My husband George Ellis and I began focusing on beekeeping at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and by 2021 launched the annual Manassas Bee Festival bringing thousand together to have fun, learn more and support our declining pollinators and to plant native. Next festival is June 22, 2024 during pollinator week!
