When I was a little girl my Mom used to bake "Plumcake" is almond flour based named Amor polenta as well, is a Liguria's recipe.
My neighbor from Emilia Romagna used to bake "Castagnaccio " with Chestnut flour.
My aunt used to buy from Perugia an amazing "Brustengolo " made with yellow corn meal polenta.
When I was breastfeeding my kids, My grandma used to make me "Chickpeas bread" and "Green- peas soup or bread"because rich in vitamins and folic acid!
What I meant is that our old people were already heating from the harvest at that time ,the most genuine and simple food, that today will still bring on our table as " Very Healthy Food"
When I decided to open that Huge and Old School book recipes... Nonna's Pantry's born!
