Our series “Fun First Looks” continues! ✨ If fairy tales had an address, I’m convinced it would be tucked away somewhere in Upcountry Maui. 🌿

Sarah and Kent chose to do their first look at one of Maui’s most breathtaking hidden gems, The North Shore Lookout. Nestled on nine private acres in Upcountry Maui overlooking the North Shore coastline and the West Maui Mountains, this is THE place to honeymoon!

The moment I arrived, it felt like stepping into another world.🪷

Lush tropical greenery. Cool mountain air. Endless ocean views. A quiet kind of magic that’s hard to put into words.

Sarah looked like a princess straight out of a fairy tale as she got ready inside a romantic cottage, complete with vintage island charm.🤍

And then came my favorite part. Their first look. Standing together above the coastline, surrounded by rolling green landscapes and panoramic views, it felt like the entire island had paused for them.

One of my favorite stops from the day was on the swing overlooking the property — tucked between the mountains and the sea, laughing together before the wedding began.🌥️

As a photographer, these are the moments I chase.
The real stuff.
The deep breath before seeing each other.
The nervous excitement.
The look that says, “We made it.”

This boutique Maui retreat was designed for romance—from its private paths leading to a pool deck and whirlpool bath beneath the stars to its peaceful ocean-view cottages built for honeymooners and couples seeking a little extra privacy and a lot of beauty.

And for a few hours, it became the perfect backdrop for Sarah and Kent’s beginning.
A fairy tale bride.
And a groom who was completely, and rightfully, in awe. 🤍

As the last golden light faded over the Andaz Maui resort, Bianka & Jose stepped into one of the most meaningful parts of their wedding day. ✨

Surrounded by the people who know and love them best, they gathered for an intimate reception overlooking the ocean — a night filled with heartfelt blessings, shared stories, and a warm Maui breeze wrapping its arms around the newly married couple. 🤍

One of my favorite things about smaller weddings is how personal everything becomes.

Every toast feels deeper.

Every embrace lasts a little longer.

Every person there is part of the story.

Bianka & Jose’s first dance seemed to freeze time, as they soaked in the honor of being husband and wife. The father-daughter dance and mother-son dance that followed brought tears, smiles, and so much emotion to an already beautiful evening.

As candlelight flickered and the Maui sky turned from gold to blue, the celebration had a music all its own; the sound of laughter echoing through the strums of the ukulele.

Because at the end of the day, the most unforgettable weddings aren’t about perfection.

They’re about being surrounded by the people who have loved you through every chapter—those who can’t wait to see what comes next. ✨🌴

We’re starting a new series: FUN FIRST LOOKS!✨♟️🌴

If you’ve ever wondered what to do during your first look besides stand there and cry (which we fully support, by the way 😂), let Viktoriya + Gili be your inspiration.

These two were an absolute joy from the beginning — playful, deeply in love, and completely present with one another all day long. So when it came time for their first look at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort, we turned it into an experience instead of just a photo opportunity.

It felt like stepping into a wonderland.
One of my favorite things about first looks is that they create space. Space to breathe. Space to connect. Space to actually enjoy your wedding day together before the ceremony begins.

Instead of rushing from one photo to the next, Viktoriya + Gili explored the resort hand-in-hand. They tiptoed across the life-sized chess board. Swung through the gardens like kids on a playground.♟️ Wandered beneath the palms. Laughed. Played. Soaked in every second.
The result wasn’t just beautiful photos.
It was real memories.

Some of my favorite images from a wedding day happen during these unscripted moments because couples stop performing for the camera and simply start enjoying each other. That’s where the magic lives.
And if you’ve ever been to Maui, you know exactly what I mean. The lush grounds, tropical gardens, ocean breezes, and hidden little corners around Wailea create the perfect backdrop for couples who want their wedding photos to feel less like a photoshoot and more like an adventure together. 🌺

This is your reminder that a first look doesn’t have to be serious. It doesn’t have to be rushed. And it definitely doesn’t have to follow a script.

Joanne + Bruce’s intimate Wailea beach wedding was filled with beautiful moments, but some of my favorites had nothing to do with the timeline, the details, or even the sunset.

They were the moments spent with her girls.🎀

The way they celebrated her every chance they got. The way they laughed together, hyped her up, and made sure she felt loved from the moment she arrived on the beach until the very last strands of sunlight Maui gave her wedding day.

And when the sun began to dip lower over the Pacific? They didn’t hesitate to kick off their shoes, run straight into the waves, and dance alongside her in the ocean. 🌅

It felt carefree. Joyful. A little wild. The kind of memory that lives on long after the wedding photos are delivered.✨

Beyond the stunning beaches, golden sunsets, and ocean views, there are these beautiful reminders that a wedding day isn’t only about the couple.

It’s also about the people who have stood beside you through every chapter that brought you here.

As the sky transformed into another unforgettable Maui sunset, Joanne just glowed, barefoot in the sand with her best friends by her side, wrapped in love, laughter, and the kind of friendship every bride dreams of having on her wedding day. 🤍

While their guests enjoyed cocktail hour overlooking the ocean, Bianka & Jose slipped away one more time to soak in the magic of golden hour at Andaz Maui. ✨

As the sun dipped lower over Wailea, the entire property began to glow — soft golden light pouring through the palms, the ocean shimmering in the background, and the warm Maui breeze catching every movement of Bianka’s veil in the most beautiful way. 🤍

These quiet in-between moments always become some of my favorites.

The wedding day rush slows down.

The nerves disappear.

And couples finally get a chance to simply be together.

Bianka & Jose moved through the Andaz Maui grounds so naturally, completely wrapped up in each other while the sunset painted everything in warm gold tones around them. Their portraits felt cinematic and intimate all at once — romantic without trying, emotional without words.

And their under-veil portraits? Absolute dream material. ✨

The way the light filtered through the fabric, the softness of the movement, the warmth surrounding them… every frame felt timeless.

Afterward, they rejoined their favorite people for an intimate reception filled with candlelight, conversation, and celebration — carrying that same calm, connected energy into the rest of the evening. (Stay tuned for Bianka & Jose’s reception gallery!)

Alyssa & Frank are proof that the best wedding days are the ones that feel completely true to you. ✨

Wailea was already glowing for golden hour when Alyssa stepped onto the beach in her crocs, flower crown, and the brightest tropical lei — and it instantly set the tone for the entire evening. Fun, laid back, colorful, and full of personality. That’s what I loved most about their Maui wedding. Nothing felt forced or overly curated. They were fully present with each other, soaking in every second and making the day their own in all the best ways.

And the personalized crocs? Easily one of my favorite details. 🤍

As sunset rolled in, Maui completely showed off. The sky turned soft shades of gold, peach, and pink, wrapping the beach in the dreamiest light. Every portrait felt warm, romantic, and effortless — the kind of sunset that makes Wailea weddings so unforgettable.

Watching these two laugh together barefoot in the sand while the sun disappeared into the ocean felt like pure Maui magic.🌺

The tropical florals.
The colorful lei.
The crocs.
The sunset.
Every little piece of the day reflected them, and that’s what made it so beautiful. 🌴✨
