Much older, 1617 🙃. The main shrine is where the sh**un and daimyo gathered during the Edo period.

Last trip outside of Tokyo 😊, this shrine was recommended by our server, since it's a little hidden away from tourists. Built in the 800's, and tucked away from the main museums, this is the shrine that's said to have the largest spiritual energy.

You'd think being a 12,389 ft active volcano wouldn't make you shy, but Mt Fuji wanted to hide behind the clouds that morning 🤦‍♂️. It's ok, she showed up later in the afternoon 🙃.

Making it to the Tokyo National Museum ✅
So much to look at, between the art and history here. 5 hours was only enough time to visit 2 of the 5 buildings hosting exhibits.

Bonus: the blueprint is of the Imperial Palace.

A lot touristy but very tasty! Dinner with new friends at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant (not pictured is the tablet that has English to order on). And real wasabi!

Probably the best gift received over the holidays. A friend found this button while metal detecting on the property this past year. After living in the ground for 160 years, it's new home is in the parlor, where it belongs! Thank you!!!
