Most of my weddings are in the Madison area, so I don’t get to see the venues in the Milwaukee market as much. I had heard of The Stella, but had never been there and was excited to check it out! I’m going to be totally honest, since the bride knows this too, but it sort of felt like nothing went 100% correct this wedding. After all the planning and organization, it just felt like several little things just kept coming up or changing. But that didn’t stop us from having an excellent time! We made adjustments on the fly and the couple’s go-with-a-flow attitude made it easy to adjust as needed and still provide a flawless experience for the guests. I hope the day still felt special and thanks for trusting me to get you through it!

This. Dress. It was so full and fabulous, I was just obsessed! Wrapping up my second 3-wedding-weekend of the year, Haley and Tyler’s big day was such a perfect celebration of their little family. Their little guy was such a champ, in his cute little suit and he made his entrance on a little wagon for the ceremony. I actually really love seeing couples who already have a family together make it official and celebrate their love. They deserve it and sometimes it can be hard for them to take a step back and celebrate themselves, when so often the focus has to be on the family or the little ones or something else. All important things, but I’m glad that Haely and Tyler could have their moment.

On today, the National Day of Charity, it seems like a good time to remind you to give back when you can!
I recently had the opportunity to work with Agrace Hospice Care on their 25th Anniversary at their Madison location. Many don't know this, but I volunteer at Agrace every week. I'm not sure what drew me there in the first place, but I've had the chance to experience their care first hand with a couple of grandparents and loved ones. Their commitment to compassionate end of life care is a tough mission to carry, but they do it with grace and kindness.
While this was a full service contract for me, I knew that this cause was something that deserved my full support, and I was totally happy to donate all my services and sponsor this event.
The team I got to work with was incredible, and in spite of the hot and humid weather, we had a wonderful night celebrating a big milestone for this organization.
So, it may not always be possible, and it might not always be financial, but consider this your small push to give back when you can. A gift of your time is just as valuable as a monetary gift, often more so, and it's good for your soul and your heart, not to mention, you may have a little fun along the way. ❤️

Weddings at The Memorial Union always hit a little different. There’s this fun mix of energy and vibrancy, mixed with some classic architecture and history that make these days extra special. Gabby and Kyle stayed true to the Wisconsin color palate with loads of bright red roses, sprinkled with light baby’s breath and lit with lots of candles. Their guest cards added an incredible personal touch as each card was personalized with a picture of the guest with the couple. Their lakefront ceremony had perfect weather and their reception following was so much fun as they kicked it off with an awesome champagne tower, followed by a choreographed tango first dance and finished with some serious partying! I distinctly remember sitting on our planning call and Gabby had everything so organized and seemed so on top of things, but also had this overwhelming sense of calm. The two sides of her- Type A-hyperfocused-organized and relaxed-ready-calm, didn’t seem to line up but when I asked her about it she just basically said, “I’m just ready for this, I’ve been planning for a long time and I’m ready!” I loved that! Thanks for making it easy for me, Gabby and Kyle! And congratulations again!

Happy Son's and Daughter's Day! I used to let the parent speeches breeze by, just another step or piece of the itinerary for the day. Now, as a parent, they definitely hit a little differently. Kids (yes, I'm talking about you kids getting married), you have no idea how special it makes your parents feel to be involved and part of your big moments. I look forward to helping create these moments with my couples and one day celebrating all of my daughter's big moments.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Working with self-proclaimed Type-A people when you’re a little Type-A yourself can have its challenges, but most often it works out for the better! Cait was such an organized, meticulous, and detailed planner, so when wedding day finally came, I had absolutely zero questions about what the expectations were. She had most of the venue set up before I arrived (which by the way, wasn’t necessary if you’re looking to work with me in the future, but a nice surprise) and when I got there I knew exactly what I was looking for and what still needed to be done. The day was really special and all the planning certainly paid off!

Brooke and Jordan had been a family for a while, but their day made it official. Their son escorted Brooke down the aisle and the kids were the life of the party! The I-Do-Crew had so much fun, starting with their game-day walk in, to shots at the reception and then partying on the dance floor. The sunset that night was absolutely gorgeous and perfectly captured by their photographer. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day, Brooke and Jordan! May every day be as golden as this one!

I started working with Chris and Erin about a year before their wedding. From helping them select their vendor team, to talking about design options and then finally bringing it all together on wedding day. I had an incredible time working with these two. Their wedding was at Olin Park, both outside and in the pavilion. Olin Park Pavilion is a little old and definitely not the swankiest of venues, but it’s charming and the weather was perfect for having all the big windows open. My favorite part of the day was when Chris walked in after we had most of it set up and he looked a little shocked. When I asked him if everything was ok or if he wanted to change anything, he replied “This looks so much better than I expected! This is great!” I wish I had set his expectations higher, but I’m glad they were happy with the end result, filled with color and vibrancy to match their personalities.

Sometimes it just doesn’t seem fair that one weekend I have a wedding that’s high stress, loads of details, truckloads of decorations, and anxious guests and then I can turn it right around and have a couple like this. Super relaxed, very attentive (which was so helpful when getting lined up for the ceremony), and their decor was simple, but elegant. It was such a pleasure celebrating with Adriana and Maggie. And, as an added bonus, I saw several friends in attendance which is always fun!
