In the service industry, you become accustomed to doing things for people without any expectation or need for acknowledgement. The reward is seeing the smiles and knowing that you make some magic happen behind the scenes so everyone else can enjoy. Tommy and Anne were a wonderful reminder why I love my job. They had everything organized and were very laid back on wedding day. They continually apologized for….literally nothing. They had zero reason to be sorry but were so kind and polite and wanted to make sure that everyone (including their vendors) knew they were happy we showed up. They had a super laid back and fun party with a special appearance from Bucky in classic Wisco fashion. In spite of the heat, this party was super cool, and even had the perfect summer dessert: Babcock Hall Ice Cream.

There were some really beautiful parts to this day including a special unity ceremony, some simple but elegant florals, and (my favorite) a gelato cart for dessert! Bekah and Conner had a really fun day with their family and friends, complete with a surprise of the groom singing a special song during toasts!

Nerves are normal before walking down the aisle, but the anxiety and excitement was palpable as I walked into the bridal suite before the ceremony on Alex and Cierra’s wedding day. They opted not to do a first look so there was a lot of build up to the ceremony. Once they made it through the ceremony, though, it was smiles. They loosened up and had the best day and it was so fun to watch the tension melt away and the fun take over.

I’m a sucker for a good theme party and Corissa and Mark’s party exceeded all my expectations. The theme was western and complete with a horsetrailer retrofitted to be a bar, a roping station, hay bales, and lots of line dancing (with an instructor)! The weather was perfect and the dance floor was full all night! And, pleasantly surprising me, almost everyone showed up dressed to the theme with cowboy boots, hats, and western flair. Corissa and Mark’s party gave me high hopes for future theme parties; I’m so glad their guests seemed to love it as much as they did. Giddy up!

I’m going to say this carefully (because I’m a mom, too) but sometimes moms can be…..challenging on wedding days. They want everything to be so perfect for their children that they feel like they have to be involved in every piece. While this can sometimes be endearing and helpful, it also prevents them from having the best day with their kid instead of for them. Their hearts are in the right place, but everyone- moms, brides, grooms, and vendors- would have a better time if the moms could enjoy the day with their family. All this is to say that Kelly’s mom was 100% there with Kelly all day! She had the best time being with Kelly (and Eric) and I think that’s exactly how they wanted it! Now, moms aside, their day was gorgeous. Not only did the couple look incredible (the dress was so gorgeous) but the weather, decorations, and venue were all perfect for these two.

I try not to overuse this superlative, but in this case, it’s true: Molly and Nate are some of the nicest people ever. Planning with them was such a joy as they had such a clear vision for what they wanted. Plus, these two had personality. At the rehearsal, all the men showed up in jorts (some small inside joke that just took off. I’m pretty sure the groomsmen shorts all said “Nasty Boi” on the butt.) The bride had an off-the-rack designer non-white dress (which looked incredible). The design of the cake was so unique ( did it again). The day was so wonderful. In spite of a few snafus, they were able to dance and laugh through a beautiful night on the rooftop of MMoCA. Thanks for being equal parts planning to a T and going with a flow. I hope you’re able to look back on your day with fun and fond memories.

I started working with these two early in the planning process. While pieces of the process seemed to wear down the excitement and there got to be a bit of decision paralysis, these two snuck in some wonderful pieces like custom word game napkins, crosswords (the groom is a NYT published crossword author), and special cocktail bitters for favors. The colors for the day were all bright and springy, mixed in with some cool dried citrus. Ultimately, all the planning paid off because the day was beautiful and there were smiles all around.

This crew definitely knew how to have fun. They had some fantastic photos with their bridal parties, a super fun grand entrance, an outfit change, and a super fun dance floor. Don’t get me wrong, they were formal and classy during all the right parts of the day, but the fun and funny moments were what made this wedding fun and memorable.

Sometimes you just have to pick a theme and roll with it. Morgan and Reese executed their theme perfectly. They met on Bumble a few years back and everything was adorably honeycomb and bee themed. The decor, the bridesmaids shoes, the small touches on signs, everything had a little hint of Bumble. Plus, they turned the traditional unity ceremony into something I had never seen before: a barbecue sauce mixing! Talking about how marriage can be sweet, bitter, salty, and more, but when it’s all mixed together it makes for a delicious marriage (and meats). I always love seeing something a little different and these two did not disappoint! And then, to top it all off, their first date was at Babe’s and somehow they managed to get the big “Babe’s” light up sign and turned it into a photo backdrop! This wedding had all the perfect personal elements.
