Being a florist means creating beauty β but it also means being thoughtful about what we leave behind πΏβ¨
At SolMate, we try to design with sustainability in mind whenever possible: β’ Repurposing vessels, candles, and dΓ©cor pieces
β’ Choosing reusable mechanics over floral foam
β’ Reducing or repurposing plastic as much as possible
β’ Giving flowers a second life whenever we can
Is it always perfect? No. But we believe small intentional choices add up β and beautiful events can also be kinder to the planet. ππ
To do that means that I deliver bouquets in recycled pasta jars instead of a new vase. Buckets and boxes and packing paper are all reused to help transport and deliver flowers, so when you get your flowers in a repurposed shipping box, it isn't that I'm cheap-it is that I am trying to reduce consumption and use items more than once!
ONE OF THE BEST THINGS YOU CAN DO IS NEVER EVER USE SILK ROSE PETALS ON THE BEACH - they are a threat to wildlife and are forbidden by beach communities. Only use natural or organic items for your aisle way or petal toss.
