Our world was rocked recently by the sudden death of our beloved Salty Dog, the one-eyed Jacks. She was definitely one of the "who rescued whom" kinds of dogs because of all the lessons she taught us about love. I had to take a bit to grieve and had paused any new bookings. Chris and Sailor and I are adjusting but there will always be a Salty Dog paw-shaped hole in my heart.

This bouquet is made with all REAL flowers, greenery, and grasses, which have been preserved or dried. This is a great option for a couple who want fresh florals, but also need to travel with the bouquet or use it for multiple days/photos. The biggest challenge with this is protecting it from moisture.

The week leading up to my June birthday, I had a couple of small wedding orders and had leftovers of 2 of my favorite pink roses: Lola and Pink Floyd. I decided to treat myself for my birthday and also play with design and test longevity - two things I rarely have the budget for as a home studio). I have had these acrylic containers for a couple of years. While I typically create traditional, full arrangements in them, I loved the clean, contemporary feel of this look, especially with the two containers side by side. Because I was not doing these for a wedding, I did not remove all of the guard petals or worry about symmetry. Also, I only changed the water a couple of times, but these beauties lasted almost two full weeks. Now I'm inspired to try an ombre look with 4 containers of orange or even purple!
