A Sneak Peek at What’s Coming to Mercer Village!

This Sunday, Macon Supper Club is giving everyone a taste of what’s to come at 1833 Tavern!

We’re featuring our slow-roasted Brisket & Grits, served with smoked cheddar garlic-herb grits, red w**e jus, pearl onions, English peas, scallions, and crispy shallots.

Rounding out the menu will be crispy chow chow with herb buttermilk ranch, candied black pepper bacon deviled eggs, roasted squash & kale gratin, cheddar chive biscuits with Cajun butter, and sticky toffee banana pudding for dessert!

We’re also sharing a preview of the 1833 Tavern menu! We’re in the final stages of development, and while a few items and details may change before opening, we’re excited to give everyone a look at what we’ve been working on.

Construction is officially complete! We’ve made some changes to the restaurant’s layout, allowing us to expand our cocktail offerings, and we’re exploring artwork that celebrates Mercer and the Macon community.

This Sunday, Supper Club pickup will be at 1833 Tavern, giving everyone an opportunity to stop by and see our progress firsthand. We’re getting close!

Big things are happening in Mercer Village!

The new signs are officially up at 1833 Tavern, and we’re getting closer to opening our doors!

We also have some exciting news to share. We recently passed our health inspection with a perfect score of 100! With our fire and health inspections behind us, we’re now waiting on our final occupancy and liquor licenses. If everything continues moving along, we’re hopeful to open within the next couple of weeks.

It’s been a long process getting everything ready, and we’re excited to finally be nearing the finish line. We can’t wait to welcome everyone!

In the meantime, Macon Supper Club is back this Sunday with our Oktoberfest Sunday Supper! After having to cancel last week’s service, we’re looking forward to serving up a hearty German-inspired menu.

This Week’s Menu:

Chicken Schnitzel – Crispy breaded chicken with mushroom Jägersauce and fresh lemon

Warm German Potato Salad – Bacon, caramelized onions, whole-grain mustard and chives

Charred Cabbage Wedge – Caraway, c***r vinegar and crispy shallots

Bratwurst Bites – Seared bratwurst with sauerkraut

Deviled Egg – Smoked paprika, cornichon and fresh dill

Pretzel Bites – Warm soft pretzels with creamy b**r cheese

Apple Tarte Tatin – Caramelized apples, buttery puff pastry, candied pecans and St-Germain vanilla ice cream

And a quick 1833 Tavern update:

Construction continues on the kitchen this week. Our Mercer Village space has previously been home to several pizza restaurants, so we’re expanding the kitchen and adding the equipment we need to offer a much broader menu when we open.

For those wondering where the name comes from, Mercer was founded in 1833 as Mercer Institute in Penfield, Georgia, before moving to Macon in 1871. Mercer has been a part of the Macon community ever since, and with our new restaurant right in Mercer Village, 1833 Tavern pays homage to the year it all began.

We’re getting closer every week. Until then, we’ll keep the Sunday Suppers coming.

SCHNITZEL IS BACK! 🇩🇪

We’re going back to the beginning this Sunday. Chicken Schnitzel was one of the first Macon Supper Club meals — and one of the favorites — so we decided it was time to bring it back.

This week’s German-inspired supper:
