As part of the ongoing effort to enhance the visitor experience in Lyons several key objectives have begun taking place for the 2026 season. For starters, you will now see new business and resource directories around town at the kiosk locations in Central Park, Abbey Park and dockside at the port and at the Lock House! More improvements are planned and we will continue to evaluate ways to make visiting Our Little Corner of the World easier and more enjoyable as we go!

As expected, we have some new closures due to the rainfall from the weekend.

Notice to Mariners
Erie Cayuga Seneca and Oswego Canals
May 25, 2026

Mariners are advised that Erie Canal Locks E-24 in Baldwinsville, Lock E-25 in Mays Point, Lock CS-1 in Cayuga and the entire Oswego Canal will close immediately due to high water levels and dangerous currents from recent heavy rainfall. Updates will follow.

Due to recent heavy rainfall, the following locations are now closed:

• Erie Canal Locks E‑16 & E‑17
• Erie Canal Locks E‑24 & E‑25
• Cayuga-Seneca Lock CS‑1
• The entire Oswego Canal

These closures are due to high water and dangerous currents. Updates will be shared as conditions change.
