Our Co-Lab original flavor “All Smoaked Out” with returns! We typically only make this once a year, so get it while you can, it sells out quickly! Madagascar vanilla ice cream is layered with brisket toffee chunks, Smoaked bacon caramel swirls, and honey cornbread! Our friends at County Smoak smoaked the bacon and brisket to perfection, and also made the honey cornbread for this flavor!

I lost my mentor .mclemore.7 on Saturday. Don was the heart and soul of He’s forgotten more about BBQ than most will ever know. He loved his family more than anything in the world. He taught me how to change my approach from my Greenbrier Chef days with our employees at BBGBBQ. The perfect Southern Gentleman, yet the way he kept current on his bills, demanded quality and respected what his customers wanted. This is the foundation that is built on! Jess even explained it to some of our staff on Sunday, that how we treat and pay our team is the next evolution of how Don ran BBGBBQ with Our Alabama White BBQ Sauce is called The Don because of his influence on Jess and myself. The day that Don and Carolyn got to eat at County Smoak with & is one of my proudest days of County Smoak! To hear how proud he and Carolyn were of all of our food, and what Jess and our team and I have built here in Lynchburg Va, brought tears to our eyes! yes I’m crying now as I type this, and I have been since i found out this past Saturday. It’s hard when you lose your teachers and mentors in any business, yet the loss that the Big Bob Gibson family has experience is going to be felt for a long time. I am grateful for the fact that Michael Mazur, Chloe Torres and Eugene Brown are able to help cover me at the Chef Jeff Event at this weekend, so I can be in Alabama where I belong!

The last picture is of Don and his best friend Bill who passed away during Covid. They always talked about fishing together, and what we could do better at the next BBQ competition! I hope they are fishing and figuring out what we can do next time we cook together!

What a fantastic weekend we had at the down in Charlotte! Thank you to for having us down to represent Virgina BBQ. It’s always an honor to help raise money for our amazing friends who have almost served 16 Million meals since 2011!
Having friends and family from all time periods of our BBQ journey, helping serve our food is a blast. Then to see all of our BBQ friends from our BBQ journey is like a family reunion. We even got to meet another Virgina BBQ establishment ! Bob and his team knocked out a great dish showing off what Virginia is doing for our State’s BBQ future!
We also won the Flavor Bomb award from Savor Charlotte! So we won a new pig and we shall call it Reuben!

The greatest award though was seeing Obi get to join Pops and me cooking another BBQ event together. It reminds me of cooking with my grandpa, dad and me on his back porch in Oklahoma! Just his trusty a chimney and a bag of charcoal. He always had some sauce for glazing up some pork country style ribs! I know Obi and Maya are paying attention to what they learn from Ali, Jess, me and all of our staff, and that makes me proud. BBQ has a way of slowing things down even as you know the train is going full speed!
