I spend hours planning, designing, and customizing each setup so it actually fits the theme not just putting a few pieces together and calling it a day. The work you don’t always see is wrapping and protecting the walls, carefully packing everything so the paint doesn’t get scratched, loading materials, transporting everything, and finally putting it all together on site. There’s also the cost of materials, supplies, time, creativity, and the years of experience that go into making it all come together. This particular setup was done out of love for my daughter and her classmates, but when I do this as a job, all of those things are part of the value. So yes, I have to charge my worth to reflect the work.
There’s a lot more behind a “backdrop” than what you see in the final picture. ✨

I almost didn’t post this one.
I was invited to my niece’s birthday party, and at the last minute I decided I wanted to create a little backdrop for her. I planned this backdrop for my niece on a Friday and her birthday party was a Saturday. So yes, this one came together FAST. Because I’m me, I started seeing all the things I could have done differently. The things I would have changed if I had more of a plan. The details I would have added. The things only I probably notice. But when I step back, I see a dreamy little princess moment for my niece. Sometimes perfection gets the best of me. I can spend so much time looking at what isn’t just right that I forget to appreciate what is.
So here it is imperfect, dreamy, and made with love.

Reality is hitting me that school starts tomorrow!
The lunches. The homework. The practices. The appointments. The activities. The work. The house. The schedules. The million little things that somehow all need to happen at the same time. The truth is, we’re not supposed “to do it all” Something might not get done. The laundry might sit there. Dinner might be simple. The house might not be as clean as we want it to be. We might cry, feel overwhelmed, ask for help, or simply have to let something go. And that’s okay. We do what we can. We give our kids responsibility when they’re ready for it. We accept help when it’s available. We pray for grace in the moments when it isn’t. And we remind ourselves that we don’t have to be Superwoman to be a good mom. I’m reminding myself of this as I shuffle three kids, a part-time job, a business, a marriage and all the other things life brings. I am capable of living the life I’ve built for myself.
Back to school isn’t always as pretty as the backdrop. Sometimes it means pressure. Sometimes it means getting back to the grind. Sometimes it’s overwhelming just thinking about everything ahead. But tomorrow will come. We’ll do what we can. And then we’ll do it again the next day. Mama, you’ve got this. You don’t have to do it perfectly. You just have to keep showing up.

I’m so thankful to be part of a church that is intentional about creating moments, celebrating every season, and reminding us that we all matter deeply to God. One day our babies are little, and the next they’re headed back to school, growing right before our eyes. We don’t always know what tomorrow will bring, which is why I believe there’s something so beautiful about being intentional with the moments we do get to experience. Yes, I created the backdrop but to me, it was never just a backdrop. It was a place to pause. A place to take the picture. A place to freeze this little moment in time before life moves on to the next thing. That’s what I love about what I do. I get to help create the spaces where memories happen. And when those spaces are filled with purpose, love, and community, it means even more!
P.S. These are my babies and I can’t believe how fast they are growing up!
