Just another day at Big Oak Ranch… 😂

Dakota, our Texas Blue Heeler, is learning that Pimsy and Mallowby are friends, not a herd to chase! Easier said than done when her instincts tell her otherwise. 🤠

Want a little glimpse of life with our Mini Highland cows? Come see the chaos (and cuteness) for yourself at our Highland Harvest event!

The wait is finally over... welcome to Big Oak Ranch!

Two places. One bigger story.

For years, The Estate (formerly Big Oak Manor & Ranch) and The River (formerly Riverfront Pioneer Cabins) have each offered their own way to experience the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley.

But behind both have always been the same people, the same hospitality, and the same belief: your time here should be worth remembering.

Now, their stories are coming together as one.

A new name. A bigger vision. And so much more to come. This is only the beginning, and we’re so excited to finally share it with you! 🌳🤎

We’ve been keeping secrets at Big Oak…and we're ready to reveal one of them. 🤎

Meet Mallowby Clover and Pimsy Meadow, our two Mini Highland sisters and the newest members of the Big Oak family!

Pimsy and Mallowby have been busy settling into ranch life, exploring their new home, and making plenty of new friends along the way. And while they may be small, they’re becoming a very special part of our historic Virginia farmstead.

Soon, our overnight guests will have opportunities to meet these sweet girls, and we have a feeling they may make an appearance in a few unforgettable wedding photos, too. 🤍

For us, Big Oak has always been more than a beautiful place to celebrate. It’s about slowing down, enjoying the countryside, gathering with the people you love, and experiencing a little of the authentic farm life that has been part of this property for generations.

We can’t wait for you to meet Pimsy & Mallowby!

So tell us—which sister do you think is the mischievous one? 🐮

Fall has arrived at The Estate. 🍂

The Corncrib is glowing, the barn is feeling extra cozy, and the mountains are putting on a pretty good show. 🤎

But there’s more happening at Big Oak than a change in season.

Recently, we’ve been giving you little hints about what’s next. And if you know The River - our quiet place to slow down, stay awhile, and make a few memories - you might be starting to put the pieces together...

We’re almost ready to share it. The wait is almost over. 👀

A place to gather. A place to celebrate. A place to stay awhile.

The Estate has always been more than a venue - and soon, you’ll see why. 👀

We’ve been working behind the scenes on something that will bring a little more to the Big Oak experience. More warmth, more ways to gather, and more reasons to make yourself at home here in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. 🤎

We’re getting closer to sharing the full story.

And trust us - you’re going to want to see what’s next. 🍂

Fall at Big Oak is beautiful - but this season isn’t the only thing bringing change. 🍂

We’ve been working behind the scenes on something bigger for Big Oak, and while we’re not quite ready to share it all yet, we’re getting closer.

Think of this as your first little hint. 👀

For now, enjoy a glimpse of fall at the barn. But keep watching… Big Oak is about to look a little different. 🤎

Something new is coming.
