Hi friend,

Running a small family farm is one of the most rewarding things we’ve ever done—but it’s also a lot of hard work. Every flower you bring home, every loaf of bread you pick up, every bouquet you gift helps keep Sunny Hill Flower Farm alive and thriving. 🌼

But here’s the truth: even if you can’t support us directly each week, there’s still a huge way you can help—and it costs nothing.

👉 Leave us a review on our Google page.
[👉 Get the link to leave a review by commenting "voice". ]

Your words help new people discover us, remind our community why local farms matter, and keep the American dream of family farming alive. For us, each review isn’t just a few sentences on a screen—it’s encouragement, growth, and a way to keep building something lasting for our family and yours.

✨ Why reviews matter:

They help our farm stand out in a busy world.
They bring more people to support local, not corporate.
They’re a free but powerful way to keep family farming strong.
If you’ve ever picked flowers here, brought home bread, taken a floral class with us, or just loved the way the farm feels—would you take a moment to share that with others?

From our family to yours—thank you for cheering us on, in every little and big way. Together, we keep this dream alive.

With gratitude,

5673 FM 86, Luling, TX.

Take your shoes off, people, and place your feet in the dirt if you plan to grow flowers...To be sure, this is a vital step. Not because it feels fun, but also because getting messy is a part of gardening.

This step of what I will call "Dirt contact" is also healthier for you as you absorb electrons from the soil and infuse them through your largest organ aka your skin. Reducing what is called "Free Radicals" this simply means getting rid of any unstable atoms in your body that could cause you to get sick.

And I can't end here because the most important thing is you need to feel your soil. Yep, take the gloves off and just feel it.

Most people miss this step, but it will forever make you the best gardener.

WHAT IS THIS STUFF:

So, now I will introduce you to the insane world that makes little seeds sprout from the dark. Reactions that have plagued chemists for decades. Gases that create a volcano of life, and pathways so small that only one kind of microbe can travel.

Are you ready for our little adventure?

So, what is this brown stuff that we call soil, mud, dirt, and so on? It hardly has any beauty, and is often all the same color, and consistency.

But wait...I am about to open the door and show you its extraordinary depth.

Think about this for a second, do you realize that the brown stuff is made up of trillions of amazing components of only three categories?

These components work together to build the exact system needed for life. The three categories: Solids, liquids, and gases.....

Comment "soil" for access to rest of the soil info!!!!

There’s something special about warm, fresh bread—and we’re thrilled to tell you it’s back at the flower stand twice a week!

Every Monday and Thursday, we’re stocked with beautiful loaves from Hunny Hustle Co.—a small, local business run by a homeschool, ex-military mom right here in our community. 💛

She bakes each loaf fresh out of her own oven, pouring care into every batch. You’ll find both classic, plain loaves (perfect for sandwiches, soups, or morning toast) and unique flavored breads that change weekly—always wholesome, always delicious.

✨ Why we love Hunny Hustle Co.:

Fresh-baked with love (never mass-produced)

Fun and unique flavors alongside timeless classics

Supporting a hard-working mama right here in our country

Swing by the stand on Mondays and Thursdays to grab your loaf before they’re gone—they go quick!

See you at the flower stand, 5672 FM 86 Luling tx.

Ever since I was a kid ...My Dad encouraged me along with my 10 other siblings how important setting goals can be 😁 And I have grown to love goal setting!

And so three years ago I set a goal: Publish the flower farm in a hard cover magazine.

Lol 😂 when I set that goal I had no idea it would take three years.... But just a reminder to keep pushing and pursuing new things, challenges, and steps. Whether they are big to other people or not 🙌 setting goals and stretching yourself is always a good thing to practice... remember "interesting people are interested people".

Being a homeschool graduate myself. I was out of this world thrilled to share in the about the farm and the things I have learned along the way.

I am a 💯 homeschooling advocate! I loved it as a child and it holds unending benefits for life 🧬

If you want free access to the whole magazine just comment " Texas" and I'll send it over 🙌😁

Did you know you can eat flowers?????

Here are 6 to start with...........

Nasturtiums
Pansies
Calendula
Lavender
Borage
Rose
Marigolds
Hibiscus
But why would we eat them?

Many edible flowers are nutritious and contain potent antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that can support your health. The high flavonoid content in flowers promotes cell health and potentially prevents cancer. Marigolds also contain lutein and zeaxanthin, which keep degenerative eye diseases at bay.

But be careful, sometimes we can only eat parts of these flowers.

So be sure you know which part you are harvesting.

The best way to know you are doing this safely is to get a recipe that uses flowers.

Your flower Farmer,

Kathryn

We’re on the edge of fall 🍂—though Texas likes to do it its own way. While other states show off crisp mornings and fiery red trees, we Texans have our own version of autumn.

But you and I both know…fall is here.
It’s in the crunch of leaves underfoot, the golden way the sun scatters its rays, and the sound of the wind tussling through the fields.

And when it comes to celebrating the season, Texans do it big—fall colors spilling through our homes, maple lattes in hand, and pumpkin spice candles burning bright. That’s a Texas kind of fall.

Which is why I had to make something special:
✨ Texas-Sized Jumbo Acorn Garland! ✨

Handmade by yours truly, each strand is one-of-a-kind. Some are dressed up with bows and dried florals, others feature simple, natural acorns—all ready to bring that cozy fall feeling into your home.

👉 You can snag yours at:
5672 FM 86, Luling, TX

Bring a touch of Texas autumn indoors, and let’s celebrate the season with every ounce of our being. 🍁
