Pray for this lady!
On my calendar, I had notes to put up a cute interactive post about “Make A Friend Day”. I didn’t know that it was also “World Day of the Sick”. I didn’t know that one of my very own friends would not be doing well. So today, I want to talk to you about her. This is my friend, BJ. She spent this last year battling Mesothelioma. Before finding out she was sick, BJ was into working out, eating right, being a total boss babe, loving her family, and most of all, being a GiGi. Throughout the entire process, she has encouraged all of us to pray harder, spend more quality time, out the phones down, and to walk closer with God. During our last visit, there was a moment I broke down and told her how awful I felt because I was questioning WHY. She told me then that she was at peace with God’s plan, whatever it was. BJ and her husband own a home health agency, and years ago, I worked for them as a field nurse. It is so funny how people can become so much more than just a boss or just an acquaintance. Their entire family is one that I look up to. They have all remained full of hope, unfaltering faith, and total love and support through this journey. And they have helped hold all of us up during this time as well. So completely unselfish, but I believe they know how much this lady is loved, how many lives she has touched, and and what a pillar she has been. I don’t know what the future holds. Part of me is attempting to make peace, and the other part is still waiting for BJ to hop on Facebook to update us that she received her miracle, and that she is sending Jeramy out to restock the Johnson Funny Farm with llamas and mini horses and goats and any other wild whom she got. I want the world to know what an amazing woman and friend she was to so many here in our small town. I want more people to love like BJ loves. See things like BJ sees. To have faith and hope like she does. And most of all, to have the unfaltering love for Jesus that BJ has. I ask that you all please say a prayer for her, her husband, their children, grandchildren, parents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, siblings, all extended family and friends. So on this day, I challenge you to pray for the sick. Pray for the weary. And make a new friend. You never know just how much they may impact your life.
