Throwback to when I drew this bookplate design! One of the first times trying the ornate pen and ink style and was really happy with how it turned out!

Unfortunately bookplates don’t really sell well 🫠 lol all well. When I update my commission list I may do custom bookplate designs but not sure who would want to pay a bit for them 🤷🏽‍♀️ they’re still a fav of mine though!

Throwback to this piece cause boy oh boy the burn out hits hard.

Self employment isn’t for the weak especially in this economy and when you’re a workaholic. Between tattoos, online orders, commissions, deadlines, emails, messages, and restocking I haven’t had time to breathe and I’m just very tired. I need money for rent and to make it to markets so I can’t slow down and it’s exhausting on my body.

After I get caught up a bit and can breathe I’ll be posting an updated price list for commissions since I’m gonna have to raise my prices and probably update my online print prices as well. It sucks cause I try to be as affordable as possible but the amount of time I have to do everything is short and I’m one person and I need to raise prices to not completely destroy myself.

I just gotta get through this week 😪

There’s been a lot of new people here lately so figured I’d do a new intro post 🖤

I’m Sam! Or Raicodoll or Raico or Doll. No, the screen name means nothing and is just a remnant of early 2000’s deviantart. I’m an ink and digital illustrator and tattoo artist that does a bunch of different styles because I get bored easily. This has resulted in me being a workaholic 🫠

I am very open about my health and have anxiety/depression as well as fibromyalgia and lupus. Being a full time artist has been wonderful in allowing me the flexibility to give my body rest when the pain gets to be a lot. I recently had breast reduction surgery and have been posting OOTD’s to try and make an effort in my appearance. Favorite musician for the past 16 years is obviously Florence and I have an affinity for folky/dark stories with interesting characters. I tattoo and travel to vend at events and have recently gotten into book illustration. This pays the bills and helps take care of me and my 5 babies.

I’m based out of Lubbock, TX (🫩) but go all over Texas and the country to sell art! Primarily through alternative markets like the Oddities & Curiosities Expo and book themed events 🖤 I make all my own prints (shoutout ) and products (my local sticker company prints my stickers for me) and am a one woman business.

I try my best as a q***r woman owned business living in a very conservative town. But I appreciate all the support that allows me to live a life that works best for me.

I’m working on projects and commissions and trying to also work on art for myself as well and some new artwork! I’m also going to be posting a new commission price sheet soon as I’m having to raise my prices 😬😬

More info on that soon! Let me get caught up first lol. Next stop is back in CHICAGO! I’m so excited to be back, it’s one of my favorite cities 🥹
