The Brick Church for the Performing Arts is excited to present a night of Irish Music with Kevin McElroy and Joe McEachern on Thursday, June 26th at 7:00PM.

Kevin McElroy has been playing Irish Traditional Music since his teens inspired by his family’s music, dancing and Irish stories. Kevin sings and plays the fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar. He had the good fortune of meeting and learning from some of Boston’s best Irish musicians.
Joe McEachern is a seasoned Irish traditional musician hailing from Kittery, Maine. Joe brings a rich tapestry of sound to his performances playing the button accordion, melodeon, concertina, banjo, guitar and piano. When not playing, Joe enjoys sharing stories about the rich history of old tunes and the nuances of regional styles.
Both Kevin and Joe have traveled and performed extensively at many venues and festivals playing with other inspiring Irish musicians. They will share their stories and music and will have CDs to purchase. Combine these two seasoned performers and you will feel as if you are being transported to the shores of Ireland! You might even feel inspired to dance a jig or reel!
Come join us at the Brick Church for another fun evening of music on Thursday, June 26, at 7:00 p.m.at the air-conditioned Lovell Brick Church for the Performing Arts on Christian Hill Road in Lovell, Maine. For more information call 207-925-1500 or go to the website at www.brickchurch.live

Got to see part of the final rehearsal for Ellen Schwindt and Mary Edes show tomorrow night at the Brick Church! What an amazing ensemble of musicians. Let's fill those seats!

Ellen Schwindt and friends next week at the Brick Church. Ellen wrote: All of us here live surrounded by another living being—the forest around us. Mary Edes and I are weaving together the sounds of the earth and forest with those of local musicians for a concert titled “Music for Earthlings.” On Thursday, June 12 at 7 PM many community musicians convene at The Brick Church for the Performing Arts in Lovell, Maine, to share celebratory music about living in our forest. “This Forest is Alive,” a classical work I composed for narrator, forest sounds, string trio, and woodwind trio makes up most of this concert. My good friend Mary Edes narrates this work while a string trio (Tim Arnold, myself, and Chris Nourse) and a woodwind trio (Julia Edwards, Mike Sakash, and Nancy Goldenhar) play miniatures depicting the life of the forest around us. Recorded bird song, including a Robin who summered on Davis Hill in 2020, complete the mix. Later in the program, the chorus will join the instrumentalists for hymns to the beauty of the earth. Serena DiNucci, marimba, and Jenny Huang-Dale, cello, also join the instrumental ensemble.
Tickets to the concert are $15 and are available at the door. The Brick Church for The Performing Arts is at 502 Christian Hill Road in Lovell, ME. The building is air conditioned.
