Tonight at the Brick Church!

This Thursday (9/3), 7:00 pm at the Brick Church, The Bradley Jazz Collective. The group will feature the music of Wayne Shorter, a saxophonist and composer who had a profound impact on a variety of jazz styles for over fifty years, beginning in the 1960’s. Wayne Shorter’s compositions are marked by unique and memorable melodies set in a context of colorful and often unexpected harmonies.

This will be the final concert of the Brick Church's 2026 summer season. The Brick Church for the Performing Arts is located at 502 Christian Hill Rd, Lovell, Maine. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Admission is $15 ($5 children 15 and under), cash/check at the door. The Brick Church is air conditioned and snacks/water will be provided at intermission. Come join us for our final concert of the summer season on Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 pm when The Bradley Jazz Collective will be performing. This year the group will present a program of the music of Wayne Shorter, a saxophonist and composer who had a profound impact on a variety of jazz styles for over fifty years, beginning in the 1960’s. Wayne Shorter’s compositions are marked by unique and memorable melodies set in a context of colorful and often unexpected harmonies. Their program includes classics from the 1960’s such as Infant Eyes, Speak No Evil, and Tom Thumb, as well as selections from Wayne Shorter’s ground-breaking group, Weather Report. Mike Sakash, a jazz history enthusiast, will share some of the interesting jazz anecdotes and background information that accompanies each of these songs. This promises to be a fabulous show. We hope to see you there!

The DellaValla Trio, featuring Isaac Houghton, at the Brick Church for the Performing Arts tonight, 7:00 pm! Doors open at 6:30 pm. Admission $15 cash/check at the door. We have AC and refreshments! Come on out to hear some fantastic bluegrass music!

The DellaValla Trio is made up of teenage siblings Molly, Joseph, and John DellaValla. They play high-energy bluegrass standards and original tunes with joyful improvisation and youthful charm. Their sound blends traditional roots with genre-crossing surprises, keeping every set dynamic and engaging. From small listening rooms to large stages, they deliver heart, energy, and a family vibe to every audience. Beyond the music, they’re natural storytellers and thoughtful educators, weaving personal stories and insights into their performances in ways that deepen the experience and resonate with listeners. They bring a unique ability to engage audiences, offering not just entertainment, but meaningful connection. Isaac Houghton, a bassist and violinist the trio met through the FA jazz program, has been performing with them for the last year. They’re excited to feature him in this show.
