Hi Friends! 👋 I’m still here and so are lots and lots of flowers. It’s been an incredibly busy summer and I needed a bit of a break from social media. It’s my favorite season though - dahlia season - so I promise to start sharing more of these gorgeous blooms again.

I planted all my dahlia tubers two weeks ago and so many sprouts have popped up in the past few days. I’ll be caring for them and patiently waiting for the first blooms to appear later this summer. There’s still time to get your tubers in the ground and I still have some available if you need them (link in profile).

Dirt. Lots and lots of dirt. This is the not so glamorous side of growing flowers. 🙃 The last few weeks have been busy ones with moving garden beds, hauling lots of soil, and getting seedlings planted.

Mother’s Day weekend is usually when it’s safe to put annuals in the ground I’m Southern OH and I’m right on track this year. If I make good progress I’ll get all my dahlia tubers planted this weekend.

Tulip season was fast and furious and over before I knew it. Remember back when it actually felt like spring and we had warm days in April? That made the tulips go crazy for a week and they all bloomed quickly.

It’s hard to believe it is May with this weather, but it does look like warmer days are coming soon. I’m hoping to start getting flowers tucked into their garden beds this weekend. What are you anxious to plant?

Not sure how to best care for your tulip bouquets? Here are some easy tips on how to keep them looking good so that you can enjoy them as long as possible.

🌷Choose a taller vase with an opening that isn’t too wide.
🌷Cut your tulips down to fit your vase. It’s normal for tulips to be floppy, but cutting them shorter can help them stay upright.
🌷Change the water in your vase at least every other day and trim the stems every few days. Did you know tulips keep getting taller after being cut?!
🌷Keep your flowers out of direct sun so that they last longer.

Tulip season is here! There’s just something extra special about big, bright blooms as the first flowers of the season. My first batch sold out in minutes, but I have hundreds more that are going to be ready to bloom with the warm weather next week. If only we could get the timing of mother nature and Easter to cooperate 😄.

Hi! I’ve taken a nice long break, but I’m still here. I really enjoy the ebbs and flows of growing flowers and have thoroughly enjoyed some down time after all of the work that fall brings.

The unusually warm February weather has me itching to start growing again. Mostly though, I’m thankful for the sunshine and getting outside to play with the kids.

The tulips are already pushing up well ahead of schedule. We may just luck out and have them for Easter.

Dahlia tuber sales will be launching later this spring too. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for more info on when they will be available.
