Well friends… we’re getting there!

Every time I walk into the new spot, I see a little more progress — and today I thought, “Hey… this is actually starting to look like a place where people might come eat some Kentucky Proud chili dawgs!”

The sink is in. ✔️
The stove and hood are in. ✔️
The dining area is coming together. ✔️
Things are getting cleaned, organized, rearranged… and then rearranged again because apparently that's part of the process. 😂

There’s still a list of things to finish, a few hoops to jump through, and that ever-important inspection.

But we are definitely one step closer!

It’s been a crazy, exciting, frustrating, exhausting, and downright discombobulated journey — but seeing it come together makes it all worth it.

I can’t wait to fill this place with good food, good people, lots of laughs and a sense of community…

Opening date coming soon...
Fingers crossed, crossed fingers, toes crossed — heck, I may start crossing my eyes too!

🚨 Progress Report: The nerves are officially reaching DEFCON 1! 🚨

We are getting SO close to opening day, and it's starting to feel real.

A huge shoutout to the fabulous Wes Mertz of Mertz Electrical, who will be wrapping up on Tuesday. Let me tell you, finding an available licensed electrician felt a little like trying to catch a unicorn riding a leprechaun. 🦄⚡️🍀 Thankfully, Wes came to the rescue and has been amazing.

Special thanks to LeeAnn Armstrong and Chris Lawson for helping connect me with Mertz Electrical. Sometimes it really does take a village... or at least a few people willing to answer frantic phone calls and text messages. 😂

Next up, hopefully next week, my handyman will swoop in to tackle some drywall work and finally get my stove vent hung. Then comes one of the parts I'm most excited about: working with local artists to fill these walls with incredible artwork before the ribbon cutting ceremony. 🎨❤️

And because the universe clearly knows how important priorities are, Coca-Cola will be delivering a shiny new cooler so we can proudly display a beautiful rainbow of Ale-8 flavors for everyone to choose from. 🌈🥤

This dream has been built with a lot of hard work, patience, community support, and more than a few moments of "What did I get myself into?" Along the way, so many people have stepped up to help, encourage, and cheer me on, and I am beyond grateful.

We're not quite there yet, but we're close enough that I can finally see the finish line... and maybe start panicking about ribbon-cutting scissors instead of electrical permits. 😅

Not to brag or anything but today I had the best catering job. I got to fix a full fried chicken Sunday meal down to the sweet tea in celebration for someone turning 100yrs old. You heard me 100 years old. Multiple generations of family and friends gathered to celebrate such an awesome milestone. The town even had a small parade in his honor with the sirens and all. His yard was just packed so full of love. It was an honor to be a part of it.
So ya I think I get some of the best catering gigs. Oh and a bonus surprise Amanda was there to be my side chick"en" helper.
You can go back to your regular scheduled program now.

Well, apparently not slinging dawgs for a little while has left me completely discombobulated. 😂 I really do love that word.

I realized I haven’t posted in a bit, and honestly, I’ve been a little bummed. I’ve had to cancel some awesome dates, I’m not out and about nearly as much, and I really miss my old kitchen. There’s something about a place where you’ve worked, laughed, stressed, sweated, and made a whole lot of chili that makes it hard to say goodbye.

But I also know that closing that chapter is making room for some pretty exciting things, and the new spot is getting closer and closer to becoming *our* new spot.

Equipment is moved in. Some painting is done. A whole lot of cleaning, rearranging, and staring at things wondering where the heck they should go is still happening.

We’re getting down to the final stretch and are waiting on an inspection or two. One of the things I’d love to cross off the list is getting a stove and hood outlet installed.

So…does anyone know a **good, licensed electrician** who might be willing to help a hot dog lady out? 🌭🔌

Fingers crossed, if everything keeps moving in the right direction, we’re looking at a **September opening!** 🤞

I’m ready to get back to doing what I love—being out there, slinging dawgs, seeing all your faces, and probably making a mess of myself in the process.

Thank you for sticking with me through all the changes. I promise, we’re getting there. And I think this next chapter is going to be a really good one. 🌭❤️

We joined up with Henry County Public Library to bring you dinner and a movie tonight. We will be showing a true movie classic about friendship, adventures and treasures. The first 100 kiddos get a free kids meal (one per child) and the full menu you will available for everyone also minus pretzels. Dinner starts at 5:30 and the movie at 6.
