The chairs are waiting.

The chandeliers are glowing.

The aisle is untouched.

And in another few minutes, none of it will be empty anymore.

That's one of our favorite things about this room.

It can look grand when it's quiet.

Some of our favorite wedding portraits happen when nobody needs to go very far.

A few steps outside.

A quiet corner of the garden.

A minute together before somebody comes looking for you again.

Hazelnut Farm was designed with places like this throughout the property. Spaces that are beautiful on their own, but even better when they become part of someone's story.

The roses are lovely.

A brief acknowledgment for the gentlemen.

Because somewhere between the dresses, bouquets, timelines, centerpieces, and approximately 47 questions about napkin colors...

there is also a groom getting married.

And usually a handful of people making sure he gets downstairs at approximately the correct time.

We love this part of the day too.

The nerves.

The jokes.

The ties getting fixed.

The friend who somehow knows where everyone is supposed to be.

Not every wedding-day moment happens at the altar.

Look good for the ceremony.

Keep the groom calm.

Make an appropriate amount of polite conversation.

And then, apparently, form a seated dance-floor train while wearing heart-shaped sunglasses.

We love the polished wedding portraits.

Fortunately, that's what friends are for.

Dress management.
Bouquet management.
Emergency problem solving.
Moral support.

And laughing with you through all of it.

Consider this your reminder that a wedding doesn't only need to look good.

It should sound pretty great, too.

There comes a point in the evening when dinner is over, the formalities are finished and nobody needs another photograph of a perfectly arranged place setting.

The music gets louder.

The dance floor gets fuller.

And apparently, the guitarist's hair understands the assignment too.

You can choose the flowers, the music and exactly where everyone will stand.

But this?

The applause.
The faces in the aisle.
That first kiss when everyone you love realizes you're officially married.
