Yet again another school has raised a piglet, they called Boris, and were going to kill him last week after pupils had looked after him for a year. He’s been saved by kind people (vegans) who simply couldn’t let this beautiful fellow die.
A parent of a distressed pupil first brought this to the attention of Paul Youd, a fabulous Viva! supporter who sprang into action along with others.
This very friendly piggy is safe now and in his forever home, kindly given by Rhi and Matt, with five rescued sheep and hens ❤️❤️❤️
Schools say ‘raising a pig teaches children about farming’. In 2022, you’d hope that schools would wake up to the immorality of this position as well as the planetary consequences of eating meat. It’s also completely disingenuous to claim it teaches anything other than teachers, adults that children are supposed to respect, are responsible for the ultimate betrayal.
