PUBLIC STATEMENT REGARDING EVENT SAFETY
The safety and well being of our drivers, spectators, families, staff, and officials will always be our highest priority.
After reviewing recent conduct and publicly made comments regarding an ongoing personal dispute, John Jones will not be permitted to attend, participate in, or enter the grounds of the upcoming Barnyard Derby August 15th, 2026.
This decision is based on conduct involving a physical altercation, as well as subsequent public statements indicating an intention to continue or address that conflict at the Barnyard event. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding any personal disagreement, we cannot allow an event we are responsible for to become the setting for further confrontation.
The Barnyard Derby is intended to be a safe, family-oriented event where competitors can compete and families can enjoy the sport without concern for violence, threats, intimidation, or personal disputes.
When statements are made suggesting that an existing conflict may be brought to one of our events, we have an obligation to take those statements seriously and act proactively in the interest of everyone in attendance.
This decision is not about taking sides in a personal disagreement. It is about maintaining a safe and professional environment and protecting the people who trust us to operate our events responsibly.
We expect everyone attending the Barnyard Derby drivers, crew members, spectators, and staff to conduct themselves appropriately. Fighting, threats, intimidation, or attempts to bring outside disputes onto event property will not be tolerated.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we continue working to provide a safe and enjoyable event for the entire derby community.
This decision is final.
I want to make one thing very clear regarding this situation.
The incident in question did not occur at one of our events, and Twisted Metal Motorsports was not involved in what took place. However, once public comments were made indicating that the situation could potentially carry over into an event that we are responsible for, it became our responsibility to address it.
Whatever disagreements, altercations, or personal issues occurred elsewhere need to remain there. We will not allow outside conflicts to follow anyone through the gates of one of our events.
Our events are family-oriented, and we have a responsibility to provide a safe environment for our drivers, crews, officials, spectators, and especially the families and children in attendance. When we become aware of a potential situation before an event, we would rather address it proactively than wait until something happens.
This is not about taking sides, placing blame, or involving ourselves in what happened somewhere else. It is simply about making sure that what happened elsewhere does not become a problem at our event.
Safety comes first, and decisions regarding the safety and security of our events will always be taken seriously.
