Center is Louisville’s newest multi-purpose arena that boasts a total of 721,762 square feet while offering an arena bowl exceeding 22,000 seats and four meeting rooms spanning approximately 34,000 square feet all within walking distance of more than 4,200 hotel rooms in downtown Louisville. It is home to the University of Louisville men’s and women’s basketball programs and is ideal for concerts,

conventions, corporate events, family shows, ice shows, wrestling and more. Center is a state of the art facility with advance technology capabilities that is owned by the Louisville Arena Authority.

Today commemorates 10 years since the world lost “The Greatest of All Time,” Muhammad Ali.

On June 10, 2016, the KFC Yum! Center transformed into a heartwarming public memorial to celebrate Ali's legacy as a boxer, activist, and cultural icon. Nearly 20,000 people filled the arena, thousands more gathered outside, and millions watched around the world as Muhammad Ali was honored with eulogies from friends and family. A diverse group of public figures also paid tribute, including a priest, an imam, a rabbi, a monk, former President Bill Clinton, and comedian Billy Crystal.

It was important to Ali's family that the memorial be open to everyone of all walks of life, races, classes, and creeds, just as Muhammad loved. Tickets were offered free to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Lines of admirers from around the world stretched for blocks outside the KFC Yum! Center Box Office, eager for a final chance to say their goodbyes.

We will never take for granted the privilege and honor of hosting the world’s final farewell to Muhammad Ali, Louisville’s greatest legacy.
