History Club of Los Gatos

History Club of Los Gatos The History Club of Los Gatos is a non-profit community, philanthropic organization. We support the community with net profits of our building rental.

Since its founding in 1897, its primary focus has been toward supporting the welfare of women and children. A portion of the rental of our building is donated to local organizations. In addition, our members are involved in the support of many local groups, both financially and wit our volunteering of our time, The club spreads its resources throughout the community with an emphasis on health and education, i.e. schools, library, cultural, and social needs.

Is there someone special in your life who is graduating? Are you struggling with "the perfect gift" for Fathers Day? The History Club of Los Gatos can help! Buy your special person a brick letting them know you care!

Bricks will have space for three inscription lines. Each line can include up to 18 characters per line including spaces and punctuation. Bricks are $250.

The bricks will be placed in front of the clubhouse, front and center surrounding our sign. Net proceeds will go to clubhouse capital improvements, approved by the membership.

The History Club of Los Gatos was founded in 1897 when Elizabeth Urquhart brought together a small group of like-minded women who took turns hosting regular meetings in their Los Gatos homes to share information. Topics of discussion started out history-related—both ancient and modern. Over the years, more women joined the group and discussion topics became more wide-ranging—literature, civics, current events, travel, the arts and music, to name a few. Faced with an ever-changing world, the History Club continued to fulfill the legacy of our founding members through the decades. Much has changed since the founding members first came together but we are ever mindful of our roots. What has not changed is this—we still come together with a shared vision of commitment to community outreach. We join with each other to meet today's challenges, committed to investing our expertise and resources.

We also rent the clubhouse facilities for private events. The History Club of Los Gatos offers a warm, inviting setting for weddings and anniversary parties, business off-site meetings and company conferences.

Commemorate a special event, honor a friend or family member, a fellow club member, or memorialize someone special to you or to the club.

Why Should I Give Blood? Because you can make a difference! Please support our upcoming Red Cross Blood Drive. Thursday July 23 2026. Appointments are available 8am to 2pm. Go to www.redcrossblood.org and search History Club on July 23.
Almost everyone during their life will know someone who needs a blood transfusion. They may be car accident or trauma victims, cancer or transplant patients, or people with sickle cell disease or other blood disorders. There is no substitute and still only one source of blood for transfusion—volunteer blood donors.
