We have been busier than busy and although it may not look like it from these boxes of mine! Ahhh no time to post all the pretty but maybe one day ☺️

This one however is a first and a favorite so I wanted to be sure to share! I’ve had this vision in my head every since I met with this couple and hoped I would be able to find the proper elements when the time came because you never know! Big big thank you to my sweet friend and green thumb goddess Tiffany who’s blooms always make my heart sing! Her buckets of goodness made my vision come to life! Also, the roses from my girl Liza also mind blowing beauty and if you zoom in there are two precious foxglove from my cutting garden too! These foxglove were pure magic and I swear I saw a fairy living in one of the bells :)

These were so fun to create and more so because I had my flower fairy Carissa .by.ru playing with me on these beauties! It’s always better with you at my side!

She’s a work of art built with my hands. Before this could happen many hours were spent choosing the stems to be used and in what colors. This happens many many months before she is created and now nature needs to do her part bringing rain and sun to the fields these stems will grow in. But without the hands that planted these seeds, tended the fields they lived in, and the love given to the land that produces all this beauty…she would not exist. The is something special about creating flower crowns that I really love. Yes, they take a lot of time and it’s hard work for our hands but there is something so satisfying about the entire process. From choosing the flower, snipping off their heads, wire and taping them, and then the final assembly.

I feel the rhythm hit as I start to thread their fragile heads and there is peace in this place, the loudness of the world quites and I’m lost seeing only the beauty in my hand. This process is hard but these moments are worth the effort and I am forever grateful for flowers and you!

I was driving home from an appointment this morning and went a different way than usual and the biggest bougainvillea I’ve ever seen stopped me in my tracks! First off it really shouldn’t be blooming right now and it was loaded with blooms! This called for me being brave enough to knock one the door and ask permission to do a little trimming 😬 So I took a deep breath, walked up to the door and knocked. The sweetest man answered, I now know him as Joe and I explained that I was a floral designer and was admirering his bougainvillea and wondered if he’d allow me to pay him to cut some. He laughed said he never bothered with the damn thing and asked if I realized it had very nasty thorns?! Hee Hee I laughter and said yes I did but I loved it so much it was worth the pain. He said he felt he should pay me to clean it up and not the other way around! I left with a back seat full and an invitation to come back anytime I’d like, and a new friend named Joe. I literally was crying while I was cutting her glorious branches! Being brave is hard but the rewards beautiful.

Thinking of the women having to flee Ukraine with small children alone, leaving their husbands to fight a senseless war. The ones who are unable to leave, the women of color who are not seen as women but “black women” so their chance to leave is less than the woman standing next to them who’s skin is a few shades lighter?! Even in the darkness of war racism rises its ugly head for all to see.

To the women who are prisoners to a body that has never felt like it belonged to them, I see you, you are my sister, and your fight is mine.

To the women who love and support me and all my crazy, forever grateful!

Today I turn 62 and I’m taking this day to reflect on how far I’ve come in just a few short years! It’s honestly so humbling and truly a dream come true! This flower dream is no longer a light in the distance, it is a small but successful little business that I grew from a dream that I had pushed aside for years but once I was brave enough to jump I never looked back!

To my children who have taught me more than I have them…you are the foundation of my soul and without you nothing would be as it is. You are my everything.

To the women who have loved me through a really tough year, so much love for you all.


To all my couples past and future who have helped make this dream possible…thank you, thank you, thank you!

PRESSING PAUSE 🌸

I’ve never really been very good at these squares but I’ve always anxiously posted on a regular basis trying to keep you engaged and hopefully attract new faces to gain exposure. Even through COVID…but 2021 she has managed to occupy every moment of my day and most days I could use a few extra hours! Anyone else?! So I’m doing myself a favor and pressing pause from posting but will try to keep my Stories updated, fingers crossed, even that’s been a challenge. Nooo time.

To those who have shown me grace and those whose words of encouragement fill me…thank you!

Let’s talk dried flowers before I go back to my rabbit hole! These were dried from leftovers and my garden! Three boxes of beauties…ranunculus, dahlias, roses, peonies, and straw flower to name a few. These pretties will be featured on the top of mini cube organic soaps being created by and then flown with her to Hawaii. They are going to be the at her friends wedding and all the flowers are in her color palette! I’m so in love with this idea! I will soon be offering these to my couples…thoughts? I’ve also got an idea for a keepsake from my couples personal flowers but that’s going to have to wait for 2022!
