The flower that grows completely upside down...
Welcome back to Educational Tuesday! Alstroemeria looks like a delicate minilily, but it’s actually one of the most resilient, long-lasting flowers on earth.
💡 THE FLORIST 3-WEEK VASE HACK:
People often throw Alstroemerias away prematurely because the leaves turn yellow before the flowers even finish opening! To prevent this:
1. Strip the lower leaves: Strip off almost all the leaves on the stem before putting it in water. The leaves consume tons of water; removing them sends all the hydration straight to the flower buds!
2. Pinch dead blooms: When one individual bloom on the cluster fades, pinch it off. The remaining buds will keep opening for weeks!

¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a Martes de Aprendizaje! La Alstroemeria parece un lirio delicado en miniatura, pero en realidad es una de las flores más resistentes y duraderas del planeta.
💡 EL TRUCO DE FLORISTA PARA QUE DUREN 3 SEMANAS:
¡La gente suele tirar las Alstroemerias demasiado pronto porque las hojas se ponen amarillas antes de que las flores terminen de abrir! Para evitar esto:
1. Remueve las hojas inferiores: Quita casi todas las hojas del tallo antes de meterlo al agua. Las hojas consumen demasiada agua; ¡quitarlas envía toda la hidratación directo a los botones de flor!
2. Pizca las flores marchitas: Cuando una flor individual del ramillete se marchite, quítala. ¡Los botones restantes seguirán abriendo por semanas!
