Following twenty years of legal battles, the iconic 1967 Shelby GT500 "Eleanor" from Gone in 60 Seconds is no longer bound by copyright restrictions.

Courts ruled that Eleanor is not a copyrightable character but simply a movie prop, overturning long-standing claims that blocked official reproductions.

This landmark decision allows authorized recreations of the Eleanor Mustang to be built and sold legally for the first time.

The ruling ends Denice Halicki’s attempts to enforce exclusive control over the car’s likeness, which had previously halted countless replica projects.

Cinema Vehicle Services, the company that built the original movie cars, will celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary by producing 25 authentic replicas.

These “Eleanor: Gone Again” Mustangs will be crafted from restored 1967 Mustang shells with movie-accurate bodywork, details, and certification.

The revival allows fans to at last buy an authentic, officially licensed Eleanor Mustang — something that was legally unobtainable for two decades.
