Wow, this one was a shocker!
Humbled and honored to be named the 2024 “Member of the Year,” by . This is markedly different than our previous wins for Best Florist, and to me, a mind-boggling achievement. The editorial team selected LV from amongst our amazing peers who advertise and work with the magazine for our contributions to the industry and the CWD community. CWD surrounds its members with the best of the best, encouraging and building each other up with fabulous shoots and collaborations, and gives a showcase for our show-stopping real weddings. To be honored amongst this group has left me speechless (a difficult task if you know me!).
I joined CWD in 2021, when I was doing weddings by myself and from my backyard. This wasn’t a move to “get leads,” but an opportunity to collaborate with the best, help set new trends, and level up my business. From day one, I pledged to be helpful whenever possible, raring to go for anything. The last three years have been fantastic and have led to wonderful friendships, content, collabs, you name it. We give our time, energy and product, and it’s all come back tenfold. The newest issue has Leta Verbena all over—from our award feature, details from a fun cake shoot, a real wedding feature, a styled shoot feature and—gasp—my fourth cover. I’ll never deny that CWD has helped my business thrive to new heights.
Under the leadership of and our editorial Queen , I am thrilled for where we go next. As a small business owner, I am humbled that these women and their team have acknowledged and praised our efforts and time with this award. For anyone still reading, I’ve always said collaboration is the key to this industry. Surround yourself with vendors, pros, advertisers and advisors that have your back, and have theirs in turn.
Final thanks to my team for always being ready and willing to jump into a CWD project and be willing to grind hard when we design. Hugs/shout out to all of the big winners this past week!
