A had a great time last night doing live visuals with Wooden Wisdom (zach and elijah) at RADIUS. I’ve been building immersive apps over the last couple of months so it was amazing to test them out live in front of an audience. Such a great night and so rad to see the Chicago family in such a cool venue.

My world is made up of family, chosen family, and work families. Yesterday we lost a great man who I’ve spent 15 years on the road with. Paul Swan was as a friend, he has a rock, he was an inspiration, and he was always kind. The backstage world of Paul McCartney is amazing. Everyone is the crew has a lifetime of experience putting together the magic of live music, spanning from the 60s to the preset. They have faced every challenge from the forces of nature, to equipment failure and artists meltdowns. They find a solution and face the next challenge. Broken bones, divorces, cancer, personal loss are all put in the background as the focus is always on the next show. Swanny went through so much in the last few years, yet he always showed up for the gig with a smile on his face and ready to face the next challenge, even through chemo and life’s ups and downs. There is such a beautiful strength in that, and knowing he has surrounded with a family with the exact same goal guiding them, the show must go on. That is the magic of a Paul McCartney show, there are hundreds of specialized and extremely talented people who no matter what they face in their personal lives are committed to do their parts. It is something that I’ve learned to appreciate. It’s like watching a mountain climber reach a summit. The persevere to make sure the show goes on. Live light study shot on 360 camera with original score. Shot at Giant Rock in the Mojave Desert. I take one stationary 360 camera and remix the light of the environment. By abstracting and kaleidoscoping the light and landscape we see a beautiful fingerprint of the colors and palettes and textures of the world around us. By remixing the field recording we break the context of the landscape and see it in a new and awe inspiring way. .stone
