Speechless...
Dear Ingrid,
It's been a few days now since Sydnie's bat mitzvah, and finally I'm able to pick myself up from off the floor. Now that I'm upright, I am able to type. Which brings me to you.
There really aren't any adequate words I can assemble that can do your talents justice. I've thought about it. I want to call you an artist, and anyone who was in that room the night of Sydnie's party would obviously agree there. You clearly are. Your art pours out of you and fills the room with something dreamy and decadent and jubilant and inviting. It's visual champagne. You take an idea and produce something that makes everyone feel all warm and sparkly inside. I watched the awe as friends entered the room you designed. Jaws dropped and there was even some bouncing. But that doesn't even touch what you contribute, really. The way you got to know Sydnie. The way you worked with her to shape her vision. The way you took your time and the way you took her (and I) through the process. And the way you did it where it always felt like fun.
There are one million memories that compiled on Saturday. We'll see which reverberate in years to come, but one is for certain. That look on Sydnie's face when she entered the room you decorated.. .Ingrid. I will always be grateful to you for that face, and that memory. That one's not going anywhere.
The combination of your skill, your compassion, your consultation, and your heart is truly unparalleled. And your resourcefulness. And your unflinchingly cool disposition. Nothing fazes you. And that is so enormously calming to a basket case such as myself. I thought you were going to help me plan a party. Instead, you helped a bat mitzvah girl create a room she thought she could only dream up. You made everything possible. You made a situation that was supposed to be stressful an absolute joyride. And that's just you. Can't be replicated. That's just you.
Thank you for making Sydnie's bat mitzvah what it simply could not have been without you. You are mind-blowingly gifted and we are all so truly grateful to have found you.
Till the next one,
Jolie
