There’s something about Filipino weddings.
We pray hard, love deeply, laugh loudly, and when the lights dim… we dance like the night was made for us.

From sacred traditions to packed dance floors, every Filipino celebration carries generations of faith, family, and joy all in one room. It’s not just a wedding — it’s a gathering of souls, stories, and nonstop energy until the very last song. 🇵🇭✨

A Wedding in Black & White — Where Presence Becomes the Story

There’s something different about photographing a wedding on black and white film. It removes the noise, the distractions, the excess—and leaves only what truly matters: emotion, connection, and timing.

Every frame becomes intentional.
Every shutter press is a decision, not a habit.
There is no rushing, no overshooting—only being fully in the moment as it unfolds.

Black and white film doesn’t just document a wedding—it honors it. It preserves the feeling of being there, exactly as it was, without anything competing for attention.

This is the kind of work we create at Big Bliss Weddings — honest, intentional, and rooted in presence.

Because the best wedding photographs aren’t taken in a rush.
They’re made in the moment.

Your photos aren’t just “what you deliver.”
They’re a collision of two forces:

The couple’s vision
+
The artist’s taste

Vision is what they dream of.
Taste is how you decide what deserves to be seen.

And here’s the uncomfortable question most creatives avoid:

If your work lost the story behind it… would it still hold?

Because real trust from clients doesn’t come from over-explaining.
It comes from consistency in taste.

From showing up with a point of view so clear,
they don’t need to ask “why this shot?”
They already feel it.

Your output is the collaboration.
But your taste?
That’s the authorship.

That’s where your work starts speaking for you
—before you ever say a word.

So refine it. Protect it. Challenge it.

Because at the end of the day,
people don’t just hire what you create…
they trust how you see.

She didn’t ask for a look.
She offered a canvas.

Kookoo came in with something rarer than a mood board— trust in the process.

Because what we were chasing was never about aesthetic.
It was about atmosphere.

You can feel it here—
the stillness, the tension, the quiet confidence sitting between light and shadow.
Not posed to impress, but to feel.

“Moody” was never a preset.
It was a language.
And her story spoke it in its own way.

This is where storytelling lived—not in repeating a style,
but in responding to presence.

Versatility wasn’t doing more.
It was seeing deeper.

Kookoo, your canvas didn’t just hold images—
it held intention.

Athena + Matt // Elopement // Joshua Tree, CA

There’s a certain expectation when people think of weddings—perfect light, sharp images, everything “beautiful” in the way we’ve been taught to define it.

But out in Joshua Tree, none of that really matters.

The desert doesn’t perform for you. The wind interrupts. The light shifts too fast. Film doesn’t forgive. And maybe that’s the point.

This wasn’t about chasing perfection. It was about choosing presence over polish. Letting moments exist without interrupting them just to make them “look better.”

Grain instead of gloss. Feeling instead of formula.
Because beauty is subjective—but being there isn’t.

Like my good friend and mentor Armand always says:
“Challenge is where art thrives.”

And film, in all its limitations, demands that challenge. It forces you to slow down, to trust, to feel before you shoot.

This is what an intiate wedding looks like when you stop trying to control it—and just live it.

Pasadena City Hall—where architecture meets intention.

This isn’t just about posing. It’s about presence.

I guide when needed—shaping light, composition, and form into intentional portraits that feel timeless. But in between those frames… I step back. I watch. I wait. Because the real story lives in the unscripted—the glances, the laughter, the quiet pauses you didn’t know were being written.

That’s where you live.
That’s what I chase.

A balance of art and honesty.
Of direction and freedom.
Of what is seen—and what is felt.

Guests pass by, but this table asks them to pause. To read, to remember, to connect the dots between then and now.

It turns the reception into something personal, grounding the celebration in shared memories rather than spectacle.

Love doesn’t always arrive with spectacle.

Sometimes it looks like this; a quiet exchange between stone and silk, between two people who already know what comes next and don’t need to rush toward it.

A watch counts the minutes, but the weight of this moment isn’t measured that way.

These details live in the space between anticipation and certainty, where time feels slower and every decision carries meaning. Before the vows, before the crowd, this is where the day quietly begins.

From behind, the details take on a different kind of meaning.

The line of buttons, the gentle spill of fabric, and the contrast between light and shadow all work together to frame a moment that feels complete on its own.

Laughter, closeness, and that unmistakable ease of being with the person who feels like home.

The way they hold each other, the way laughter settles into calm — this is what it looks like when love feels easy and certain at the same time.
