The Mathews on film.There's just something so timeless about photos on analog and it's amazing to see so many photographers incorporating film back into their packages.

We know it can be costly to have your entire wedding shot on analog film, but adding one or two rolls of 35mm onto your digital photography package is so worth it in our opinion! If your photographer offers it, add it on, we promise that it will be worth it.

Hello Friends! It's me Jess, and today is my birthday! New Years is by far my favorite holiday because I'm an avid list-maker and goal-setter (shocking, coming from a wedding planner). But this year, I'm taking a new approach to my goals, and for each goal I set - I'm finding the fun in accomplishing that goal.

I've dropped my top three Q1 Business Goals below for quick examples:
+ Take New Headshots. It's been almost a year and a half since my last head shots were taken and I'm so excited to plan out my attire and brand shoot to get my business on the right foot in 2024. I'm coming for you
+ Update the AEP Website. There is so much old content on our website and being able to showcase new weddings and how far we've come since we've last updated the website makes me so happy!
+ Get more consistent with showing up on social media. This has always been a tough one for me, but knowing the amazing community you can build online by just showing up everyday is something I've never really considered and I'm so excited to see the change this makes in my mindset.

Are you team Sweetheart Table or team Head Table? We’re partial to Sweetheart Tables for the sole fact that it’s easier on the couple to plan for.

Some things you have to take into consideration when you’re planning for a head table is who will take up the seats around the head table. Will it be family or your wedding party? If you’re planning to sit with your wedding party, don’t forget to plan a seat for their partner! If your wedding party has a total of 10 people that can sometimes mean you’ll need 22 seats at your head table (including the two of you) - so be sure to take that into consideration when deciding between a head table or sweetheart table.

We're all about breaking the norm and making decisions for your wedding that are an authentic representation of you as a couple or that will shape your wedding day in a way that will give you the best memories of your wedding. Denise and Trevor were our first couple to decide to walk down the aisle together during the processional and I absolutely loved it!

Just because you've seen things being done at a wedding in the past, like the bouquet toss, doesn't mean you have to incorporate it into your day. And the opposite is also true. It's your day - make it yours

All white wedding but make it modern. I love the way K + A incorporated a tropical element into their decor. They planned their wedding from their home in Hawaii and were able to bring some of that atmosphere to their wedding day.

If you are attending any weddings in 2024 this is your PSA to keep yourself and your personal belongings off the guest tables until we invite everyone into the reception space. A lot of times, the reception space isn't quite ready for photos until mid-way through the cocktail hour; or the photographer hasn't had time to shoot the reception space until closer to the start of the reception and it's always nice to have clean photos of the event space and decor without jackets, purses, etc. in the mix. Couples spend a lot of coin and invest countless hours into making sure their wedding vision is brought to life, so have a little respect and hold on to your personal belongings until you take your seat for dinner.

Cannot get over how amazing Kady looked in her second look of the night!

A lot of times brides or grooms will ask when is a good time to change into their second look. While there are a few times during the wedding day that can work, we usually will first ask what formalities you want photographed with you in your more formal attire and what formalities (if any) you want photographed in your second look. A lot of our couples opt to change after the major wedding formalities happen (entrance, first dance, toasts) and before the dance floor opens. This usually means you’ll be in your fun reception attire for cake cutting and dancing, maximizing time in both outfits!

Let us know when you’re thinking of changing into your second look or if your plan is to wear your formal attire for the entire wedding! We’d love to hear your opinion in the comments!

All we want for the holidays this year is more weddings with dogs. Every venue has different regulations around incorporating your pups into your wedding day, but we're always game for trying to work alongside the venue to include your dog into as much of the day as possible. We know as much as anyone how much your pups can be a part of your family so why not include them into your wedding?
