A couple of months ago I got to spend a week making music in beautiful Mallorca, Spain at the suru.music expansion retreat, and I honestly still can’t believe I got to be apart of it.
It ended up being one of the funnest weeks of my life. Getting to spend an entire week focused on music production and creativity while being surrounded by talented, like-minded artists in the most beautiful location Finca s'Almudaina Mallorca was everything I hoped it would be and more.
Getting to learn one-on-one from some of my absolute sonic heroes was completely surreal. These are artists I’ve been listening to and dancing to, since I was a teenager. If you had told younger Shannon that one day she’d be sitting in workshops with them, getting production feedback, talking music, and sharing ideas, she never would have believed you.
The entire experience exceeded every expectation I had. From the production workshops and industry talks to the collaborations, sound healing sessions, breathtaking villa, late night music conversations, food, and even a field trip to watch our gurus perform at a festival, it all felt like something out of a dream.
More than anything, I’m left inspired and excited to keep creating, and so grateful for the incredible people I met. I truly feel like I found a community of artists who genuinely support and inspire one another, and I know I made friendships that will last a lifetime. 💗
