'm not sure what this characterizes me, but I love lit candles. There is nothing that exudes romance or coziness more to me during these austere winter months than lit candles. While I can work through almost anything, I fully admit that my best and the most favorite setting is a lit scented candle, and wait for it - rain ambient sounds - to help me work through the day. It keeps me relaxed, energized, or influenced (depending on the beverage).

It takes me a while to warm up to a slower pace when it comes to the winter months and, let's face it, kind of drab feel. I was born on the Summer Solstice, after all. I have found as I have gotten older how to make these winter months more lux and a little more cozy, even if I live in Southern California, where seasons don't seem to exist. (Trust as born and bred Northern Californian, I miss seasons!)

So a wedding and home tip: Don't ignore candles. They truly set a mood.
