RootDown LA Root Down LA empowers youth to become leaders through healthy food ventures in the communities.

We do in hours what nutrition education has been trying to do for years, we get kids & adults to eat their veggies. Root Down LA (RDLA) is a youth-led non-profit organization in South Los Angeles that trains and employs young people to develop social enterprises that deepen residents’ own stake in their community and reinforce a healthy food culture that inspires all neighborhood residents to grow

Garden Workday is now in session!

We're the community comes together and gets things done✊🏽👩🏾‍🌾🧑🏼‍🌾👨🏾‍🌾 We worked alongside each other to transplant watermelons 🍉 melons 🍈 and squashes for the upcoming season! They also volunteered to sift compost and beautify the garden 🫰🏾🫶🏽 helping maintain safe green spaces for the neighborhood.

Another successful day of giving back to the community! Every Friday RootDown LA has been teaming up with and to bring food to the community. We have been providing 200 families access to food provided from south central unity coalition and also veggies straight from our garden as well.
