CELLO OR CASTANETS
WHICH IS IT?

When selecting entertainment for an event, it’s essential that it enhances both the quality and the message of the event experience.

For a remarkable gallery showing of intensely powerful paintings, we brought in an improvisational cellist whose music set the perfect background mood.

For a lively Spanish-inspired pre-event evening, we collaborated with performers to feature perfectly effervescent flamenco dancers—full of energy, color, and flair.

From magicians to string quartets, violinists to jazz pianists, fire eaters, tap dancers, DJs, Broadway singers and 1940s swing bands, the possibilities are endless. The right entertainment shapes the environment and is key to helping define the quality and feel of the event, turning it into a lasting memory.

TIPS & BITS

One of the key things you need for any tablescape is good rental supply sources. Look for rental companies in your area and look at what they have in their inventories. You can pull pictures from their website and collect them into a folder on your computer, and compare what looks great together to create your ‘scape. Of course, Google Images is great for this kind of “look” research, and Pinterest is practically built for it, providing a ready-made way to make collections and organize them.

Also, there are many national online sources – here are a few I use:

Amazon (amazing what I have found here but always a good idea to purchase at least 1 sample of what you are thinking of using)

Over The Top (national table linen rental)

Shop Wild Things (crystals, chandeliers, prop items)

Tablecloths Factory (good source, inexpensive and fun)

Quick Candles (amazing selection)

Note: We almost always have a minimum of 50 tables in our projects so we create sample tables to work out how all the elements go together. For smaller projects I advise putting your images together on a board (either a digital board or printed out and pinned to a physical board) or in an MS Word document to see how they integrate before your final purchase of items. You want to see everything together side by side, to build a set of matching, coordinated elements.

IT’S IN THE DETAILS

Dining tables are one of my favorite creative canvases. In the industry this is called a tablescape – the artful creation of a visually immersive theme setting for a table.
The napkin fold, es**rt “cards”, the flowers, China, flatware, crystal, chairs, lighting, table surface and/or linens; so many elements contribute to the unique expression of each table design. And, of course, these are all crafted to integrate with the environment and overall theme for the event.

We love these details and it is so much fun selecting and putting them all together.

ALL ABOUT THE THEME 💫 STAR WARS MEETS HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR

This fabulous couple wanted “Star Wars Meets Hollywood Glamour” for the theme of their wedding atop the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel’s Art Deco 1920’s Penthouse.

How fun it was to have Stormtroopers walk the bride down the aisle, black and white flowers and crystals everywhere, a specially crafted Hollywood gift bag, a Go Pro camera in the bouquet, and to top it off, Han Solo frozen in the wedding cake!

We work with unique and unusual in everything we create.

A red carpet event in Hollywood celebrating the world’s top emerging talent in science fiction and fantasy, with 24 winners from 8 countries. To match the cover of the event’s book release, we designed and installed centerpieces of boats floating on glowing clouds 🏰🛶☁️
