Episode 11 of the Podcast

Emily & Maxson love one another and are fully committed to a lifelong partnership… they just don’t know if they want to get legally married. So they created a podcast to investigate marriage and determine if it’s the right fit for them. I offered to preform a commitment ceremony for them so that they could discover how getting married might feel.

Well, this is how a rom-com wedding ceremony made them feel…

Maisie & Alex had originally considered having a family member or friend officiate, but ultimately decided to take the pressure off and find someone experienced. (Their words!) They came across my website and decided to roll the dice on a RomCom Wedding. It was a bit last minute but I squeezed them in - we met on Sunday and I married them that Friday, and I’m glad it worked out because they are a fun & classy couple!

Was special to be back at Rancho Las Lomas, a truly beautiful venue, and an honor to celebrate Maisie & Alex, who have a romantic love story spanning the past 6.5 years and featuring a very important pen. Was fun to tell their story. Congrats to the newlyweds!

Sarah says she found me by googling “fun officiant experience.” I hope they don’t feel like Google ripped them off, because I sure had a fun experience as their officiant! Especially since they got married at the happiest place on Earth.

What a thrill to preform a ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel. What a joy to celebrate such a friendly, welcoming and playful couple. Even light rain during the ceremony couldn’t keep us down. Congrats to the newlyweds, I hope we made Sarah’s dad smile.

Now I’m off to uncover the mystery of one of the most closely guarded secrets throughout the Walt Disney Company - which is harder to get into: Club 33 or the Disney Weddings Preferred Vendor list? 🐭🏰

Not going to lie, this was one of the more challenging ceremonies that I’ve ever written, but the introduction I crafted for them turned out to be one of the most interesting and poignant opening remarks I’ve ever delivered. Check it out…

Yesterday’s Officiant Accelerator in Los Angeles was a smash! We spent the day with folks interested in launching their professional officiant businesses, and it was stellar turnout. Once again Ceremonies by Bethel | San Diego & Temecula Wedding Officiant keynoted an informative day of training, Clint Hufft added insightful commentary the way only he can, and I flavored in some spice to shake things up. Thank you to 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 for throwing yet another successful event and for continuing to support professionals in the field. And thanks to IAPWO for being there in spirit. Check out the Accelerator when it comes to your city - New York is next!

By the way… HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CLINT! 🥳🎉🎁

Should We Get Married, a new podcast from Maxson Jarecki & Emily Carter

They’re in love. They’re committed to each other. But SHOULD THEY GET MARRIED? This is a valuable and modern exploration of an often presumptive institution. I help them discover what the experience of having a ceremony would feel like. The first of two episodes in which I am featured. Listen everywhere your ears consume media.

Coral and Nolan’s wedding was one for the books. After getting legally married at the courthouse, they wanted a proper ceremony and to throw a kick-ass party - and they delivered! (We all did 😉) We schlepped out to the middle of nowhere in Death Valley for a spectacular celebration. Was really excited about my script for this ceremony, mostly because Coral & Nolan have a phenomenally comedic story! Much more to come about that, but for now congrats to the newlyweds… again.

After sixteen years together, Amanda & Matt finally decided to commit! And for two cinephiles who met in a Coen Brothers film class, there’s no more iconic location at which to celebrate than the Griffith Observatory overlooking LA. We gathered for a sunrise ceremony with some VIPs and welcomed the day together. I’m gonna be honest… I had the La La Land theme stuck in my head the whole time. So I put it in this video. And now you have it stick in your heads too. YOU’RE WELCOME!
