Poplar Creek Music Theatre located in Hoffman Estates Illinois was the premier Chicago area outdoor concert venue that opened in 1980 and closed in 1994. It had 7000 sheltered pavilion seats and 18,000 lawn seats.

“Margaritaville” singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett has died at age 76. A statement on Buffett's official website and social media pages says the singer died Friday “surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs."
