Welcome, new Chamber member, and yesterday's Wandering Wednesday - Street Bed and Breakfast!!! Sandstone Street Bed and Breakfast opened on November 7, 2012, under the ownership of Virginia and Jack Walker. This 100-year-old Colonial Revival house has been home to several of Llano's most prominent citizens. The house sits on approximately a half-acre that was part of a land patent issued by the State of Texas to JC Ragsdale in 1846. By 1905, the house was completed and owned by LC Smith. The house was later sold to and occupied by Walter Vander Stucken, VP of the Llano Home National Bank. The house later became the property of Franklin Buttery, co-founder of the Llano Buttery Hardware and Lumber Company, still in operation today. Other successful business owners who have lived in the home include Paul and Ida Nell Schuessler of Hasse's Hardware, and Mike and Louise Hazel of Industrial Electric Service and Supply.

Over the years, the house has been lovingly cared for with renovations and modernizations; however, every owner, including and especially Virginia and Jack, has always kept the charm of the original structure.

This beautiful house is decorated with period antiques and boasts original hardwood floors, two fireplaces, original wood molding, and wrap around porch. Virginia offers the best in breakfast and cozy teas in Llano! If you're staycationing for the weekend or dropping in to discover ALL beautiful Llano has to offer, staying at Sandstone Street Bed and Breakfast may well be the highlight of your visit!
