Gulitti claims biggest check of the weekend

The Big Texan $50,000 shootout was a wild one with some of the best racers from across the country competing for one of the biggest paydays in Texas bracket racing history.

64 entries staged up for Round 1 and by the time we made it to the Quarter Finals we had 8 of the best ready to battle it out in Randall Reed, Spencer Massey, Cory Gulitti, Jeff Serra, Jake Clayton, Anthony Livengood, Curt Harvey, and Rocky McLain.

The round started hot with Livengood laying down .006 total which locked out Clayton after an .008 let go. Harvey got the best of McLain after a .016 total run to lock out Rocky’s .022 reaction time. Jeff Serra had the best lap of the round laying down .003 total to beat Massey who was .005 take .003 to be under the dial. Gulitti claimed the last winlight of the round who was .012 take .003 to beat Reed who was .018 and .015 above the dial.

The semis saw two of the best locally and two of the best in the world square off. Livengood slid by Harvey after Curt let go -.002 too soon. Gulitti sent himself to the final after beating Jeff Serra with a .013 package. Serra was .010 and .014 under the dial.

This set the stage for the biggest final of the weekend as Cory Gulitti and Anthony Livengood would face off for $50,000 and the Gold Cowboy hat. Gulitti would cap off his victory in style with a .000 reaction time and stopping the clocks 4.322 on his 4.31 dial. Livengood would have to settle for Runner Up as he was .028 and .014 under the dial.

WRIGHT GETS THE JOB DONE IN FRIDAY’S $20,000 RACE 💰🏁

After battling it out all day in the Crader Performance Engines $20,000 Friday race, four cars remained heading into the semifinals. Landyn Wright, Leah Hughes, Luke Vinson, and Brandon Justice were left standing.

The first semifinal paired Wright and Vinson. Wright was .007 on the tree and dead on with a 1, while Vinson, fresh off his No Box win, was .019 and 1 over. It wasn’t enough to get around Wright, sending him to the final.

On the other side of the ladder, Hughes and Justice squared off for the second spot in the final. Hughes was .012 green and dead on with a 5, while Justice turned it -.011 red, sending Hughes through to meet Wright.

That set up an all-young-guns final between Landyn Wright and Leah Hughes. In the end, Wright got the job done after Hughes left the red bulb on by -.010, giving Landon the win and the $20,000 payday!

Luke Vinson added to an impressive day by taking the No Box win and carrying his entry all the way into the Super Pro semifinals.

Stevenson Cashes In on Day 1

Kansas’ own Kurtis Stevenson started his weekend off with a win in our $10,000 Warm Up Race. Stevenson squared off in the final with one of the best in the business in Kyle Cultrera. Kurtis’ win light came on after Cultrera turned it -.006 red in the final. Stevenson was no slouch with a .004 reaction time and running through at 4.508 on his 4.52 dial to claim his first Flicker Promotions check. Brad Roberts was the lone semi finalist.

On the No Box side young Kyle Miller took the win over Carson Wheeler in an all Kansas Final. Miller claimed victory with a .021 reaction time after Wheeler turned it red in the final. Jake Howard and Drew Porcher were the semi finalist.

👉 If you have Reserved Parking, please check in with the Gate Attendant so someone can help you park.

👉 There is PLENTY of FREE paved parking available. Paying for parking is/was not required. So please don’t feel like you’re not going to have anywhere to park!

👉 When you come through the gate, you will get your Gate Slip to bring with you to Registration. DO NOT FORGET IT UNLESS YOU LIKE CLIMBING 2 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS 😂
